Zuchu reveals desire to become a stay-at-home wife
By Valerian Khakayi, June 19, 2026Tanzanian singer Zuhura Othman Soud, popularly known as Zuchu, has opened up about her future plans after a life in music, revealing that she envisions a quieter lifestyle centred on family, business, and personal growth.
Speaking about her long-term goals during an interview with Wasafi FM on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Zuchu said that once she retires from music, she would like to focus on entrepreneurship while spending more time at home with her family.
She further added that she was eager to be a stay-at-home wife.
“Nikistaafu muziki nitakuwa tu mfanyibiashara, na ningependa kukaa zaidi nyumbani; kama nitakuwa bado nina familia yangu, nataka niwe mke bora, mama bora nataka niwepo nyumbani,” Zuchu said.
“I think I am eager to be a stay-at-home wife na nifanye biashara ambazo zitaguza legacy ya familia yangu.”

Zuchu added that her busy journey from school into the music industry has not given her enough time to experience a slow-paced home life, something she now looks forward to.
“That is the thing I have never experienced; nimetoka tu kwenye kusoma nikaingia kufanya kazi,” she added.
She further revealed that after retiring from the music industry, she hopes to travel more with her future family, enjoying quality time with her children and husband.
“Nikisha wacha kazi ya muziki, I want to travel with my kids, with my husband I want to stay home,” Zuchu disclosed.

Political ambitions
The singer also reflected on her earlier ambitions in politics, saying that although she once dreamed of joining politics, she eventually let go of the idea due to the demanding nature of the field.
“Nishawai kuwa na ndoto ya kuwa mwanasiasa, lakini ilikufa, kwa sababu kila unapo mkuwa unapata kitu kipwa,” she recalled.
Zuchu further explained her decision not to venture into politics after retiring from music, saying the shift would be too time-consuming and would take away from her desire to focus on family life and business ventures.
“Kutoka kwenye kazi ya muziki niingie tena kwenye vita ya kisiasa naona nikama ita occupy zaidi muda wangu,” she explained.
