Tanzanian music star Zuchu has shared an emotional update as she prepares to leave home for hospital, where she is set to give birth to her baby girl with fellow singer Diamond Platnumz.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram on Saturday, August 1, 2026, Zuchu told her fans that the long-awaited moment had finally arrived, revealing that she was ready to head to the hospital to meet her unborn child.

“Hello, my people. So pack with me, and today is the day. I am finally ready to go to the hospital to meet my baby. So pack with me all the things I need,” she said.

The singer admitted that she was experiencing mixed emotions as she prepared for the life-changing moment, saying she was both excited and worried about what awaited her at the hospital.

“I am excited, and at the same time I am worried,” she said.

Zuchu explained that one of the things she was most looking forward to was finally seeing her daughter’s face and discovering whether the baby would resemble her.

“I am excited to see whether she will be looking like me,” she said.

As she prepared to leave for hospital, Zuchu took her followers through some of the items she had packed for herself and her baby, offering a glimpse into how she was preparing for labour and the arrival of her daughter.

Among the items she packed were nappies and cotton wool, which she said she would need to care for the newborn.

“I am packing Pampers, cotton wool, clothes, a bottle and a feeder,” she said.

Zuchu also remembered to pack items for herself, including maternity pads and breast pads, as she prepared for the period immediately after giving birth.

“Maternity pads for me. Breast pads,” she added.

The singer also packed several blankets to keep her newborn warm, including cuddle blankets and additional baby blankets.

“Cuddle blankets. I have also carried baby blankets,” she said.

Zuchu further revealed that she had packed milk formula as a precaution in case she did not have enough breast milk immediately after giving birth.

“Milk formula just in case I don’t have enough milk,” she explained.

She also included sweaters for her daughter among the items she was carrying to hospital, ensuring that the newborn would have warm clothes after arrival.

“And I am also carrying sweaters for her,” she added.

After showing her followers what she had packed, Zuchu invited other mothers and women who had experienced childbirth to share their own advice on what they believed was important to carry when going to hospital for labour.

“Tell us what you pack when going to labour also,” she asked.

The emotional update comes at a significant moment for Zuchu, who is now preparing to welcome her first child with Diamond Platnumz.

Lavish baby shower

Zuchu’s hospital update comes just a day after Diamond surprised her with a cash gift of US$30,000, equivalent to approximately Ksh3.87 million, during a lavish baby shower held on Friday night, July 31, 2026.

The glamorous celebration brought together family members, friends and several prominent figures from Tanzania’s entertainment industry, including veteran taarab singer Khadija Kopa, Baba Levo and Barnaba Classic.

One of the biggest moments of the celebration came during the gender reveal, when it was announced that Zuchu and Diamond were expecting a baby girl, prompting pink-themed celebrations and cheers from the guests.

Videos from the event showed the venue decorated in an elegant style as guests enjoyed entertainment and celebrated the couple’s upcoming arrival.

Diamond later surprised Zuchu with the US$30,000 gift, describing the money as a small token of appreciation for the woman carrying his child.

While presenting the cash, the singer said no amount of money could compare with what Zuchu had given him by carrying their child.

“She’s keeping the dollars. It’s only a small amount. It’s US$30,000. In Tanzania that’s about TSh79 million. The gift this lady, this sister, this woman, this mother, this beautiful woman has given me can never be compared to money. If I said I was paying her according to what she has done, I would be lying, but at least this is a token,” Diamond said.
