Zuchu gives birth to baby girl: Why Diamond calls his newborn daughter a dream fulfilled
By Valerian Khakayi, August 3, 2026Veteran singer Diamond Platnumz’s immense excitement over welcoming a baby girl with his wife, Zuchu, goes far beyond becoming a father again.
For the Tanzanian music star, the newborn represents the fulfilment of a deeply personal dream he has carried for years.
During the couple’s lavish baby shower and gender reveal celebration in Dar es Salaam, Diamond revealed that he had always hoped to one day have a daughter born in his home country of Tanzania.
Although he is already a proud father to several children from across East Africa, this is his first Tanzanian-born daughter. His only other publicly known daughter, Princess Tiffah, was born to Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan in August 2015.

Expressing his gratitude to Zuchu during the celebration, Diamond thanked her for making that dream a reality, saying the occasion was one he had long prayed for. The singer explained that while he cherishes all his children equally, welcoming a daughter born in Tanzania made the moment uniquely special.
Another touching coincidence is that both Princess Tiffah and Diamond’s newborn daughter share the same birth month. Princess Tiffah was born in August 2015, while Diamond and Zuchu’s daughter arrived in August 2026, creating a special family connection between the two sisters.
Diamond’s grand gesture to Zuchu
The emotional revelation came during a colourful baby shower attended by close family members and friends. Pink-themed decorations filled the venue as the couple officially revealed they were expecting a baby girl.
Diamond also surprised Zuchu with a cash gift worth approximately Ksh3.87 million, describing it as a small token of appreciation for carrying their child. He said no amount of money could truly repay her for the sacrifice and blessing of motherhood.
“She’s keeping the dollars. It’s only a small amount. It’s US$30,000. In Tanzania, that’s about TSh79 million. The gift this lady, this sister, this woman, this mother, this beautiful woman has given me can never be compared to money. If I said I was paying her according to what she has done, I would be lying, but at least this is a token,” Diamond said as guests applauded.

From separation to parenthood
The celebration marked another milestone in the couple’s relationship, which has remained one of East Africa’s most talked-about love stories.
Diamond and Zuchu held their Islamic wedding ceremony, known as a Nikah, in 2025 before experiencing a difficult period that saw Zuchu publicly announce their separation and reveal plans to divorce.
However, the two later reconciled, with news of Zuchu’s pregnancy signalling a fresh chapter in their relationship. Since then, they have openly shared moments from their journey to parenthood, including preparations for the arrival of their daughter.
Diamond and Zuchu’s baby girl
The couple’s long-awaited moment finally arrived on Sunday, August 2, 2026, when they announced the birth of their baby girl to millions of fans across East Africa.
Diamond was the first to break the news, sharing an emotional message welcoming his daughter into the world.
“Welcome to the world, our precious little angel. You are already loved more than words can ever say!” he wrote.
Shortly afterwards, Zuchu also shared the joyful news with her followers, posting a brief but heartfelt message in which she described her newborn daughter as her “whole world”.
The arrival of the baby marks a significant milestone for the celebrity couple, whose relationship has captivated fans for years.
For Diamond, however, the occasion carries an even deeper meaning: it is the fulfilment of a dream he publicly spoke about long before his daughter was born: welcoming his first daughter born in Tanzania.
