World Cup 2026: Pastor Kanyari unveils plans to stream every match in his church

By , June 10, 2026

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has unveiled plans to host football fans at his church throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup, confirming that residents living near the church will be able to watch all tournament matches from the church premises free of charge.

Speaking during his Wednesday, June 10, 2026 midweek service, Kanyari revealed that his ministry had already put in place arrangements to ensure football lovers enjoy the month-long competition in a comfortable environment.

According to the preacher, all World Cup matches will be screened on the church’s large screens, allowing fans to follow the action from the opening game to the final.

“How many of you like the World Cup? What I am planning is that we will stream all the matches here in my church, and they will be shown on all the screens in the church,” he said.

Kanyari further announced that visitors attending the screenings will not only enjoy the matches but also receive free meals and soft drinks.

He said the church would offer lunch and soda to football enthusiasts who choose to watch the games from the church grounds, describing it as part of an effort to create a welcoming atmosphere for the community.

“Everyone who comes to watch the games will be given free lunch and soda so that they can enjoy the matches in peace,” he added.

The televangelist explained that screenings would begin in the morning and continue until late in the evening due to the number of matches scheduled each day during the tournament.

He pointed out that the expanded World Cup format features numerous fixtures daily, making it necessary for the church to remain open for extended periods to accommodate supporters.

“The screenings will run from morning until late because the World Cup has many matches every day. You know the tournament is played by almost ten teams per day. That is why,” Pastor Kanyari said.

Biggest World Cup in history

For the first time ever, the World Cup will be jointly hosted by three countries, the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will run until July 19, 2026, when the final is played at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.

The 2026 edition will also make history by featuring 48 teams, an increase from the previous 32-team format used in recent tournaments. The expansion means the competition will have 104 matches, making it the largest World Cup FIFA has ever organised.

The opening day of the tournament will feature hosts Mexico taking on South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium, while South Korea will face Czechia later the same day in Guadalajara.

The competition will begin with the group stage running from June 11 to June 27, before progressing to the Round of 32 from June 28 to July 3. The Round of 16 will then be played between July 4 and July 7, followed by the quarter-finals from July 9 to July 11.

The semifinals are scheduled for July 14 and July 15, while the third-place playoff will be held on July 18, one day before the final.

Because of the expanded format, football fans are expected to enjoy multiple matches daily throughout the tournament, with some match days featuring close to ten games across different venues.
