‘We love you Mum’: Babu Owino pens sweet message to Ida Odinga as she marks 76th birthday

Owino celebrated Ida with a message filled with prayers and affection, wishing her good health, happiness and many more years as she marked the milestone.
“Happy Birthday, Mama Ida Odinga! Happy Birthday to the great Mama Ida Odinga,” Owino wrote.
The lawmaker went on to pray for Ida’s new year, asking God to bless her with good health, happiness and abundant blessings.
“May this new year of your life be filled with good health, abundant blessings, happiness, and many more beautiful years ahead,” he said.
Owino also prayed for continued divine protection and guidance for Ida, while acknowledging the impact she has had on the lives of many people.
“May God continue to guide, protect, and strengthen you as you touch the lives of many,” he added.
The Embakasi East MP concluded the heartfelt message by expressing his affection for Ida, referring to her as his mother.
“We love you Mum,” Owino said.
The birthday message came as Ida marked her 76th birthday surrounded by family, friends and a select group of guests at a lavish invite-only celebration.
Prince Indah’s warm wishes
On his part, Ohangla music icon Prince Indah also celebrated Ida, describing her as a woman whose presence alone offers lessons in wisdom and character.
“In your presence, Dr Ida Odinga, wisdom is taught without a word,” Indah wrote.
He praised Ida’s humility, describing her as someone who embodies patience and calmness while also possessing remarkable courage.
“You have shown us the essence of humility, the quiet composure of the patient and the untamed courage of a lion,” he said.
Indah also praised the manner in which Ida carries herself, saying her grace had made her worthy of the admiration she enjoys.
“You carry yourself with grace, and we are deeply proud to call you the mother of the nation,” he wrote.
He concluded his tribute by wishing Ida a happy birthday, affectionately referring to her as “mama”.
“Happy birthday, mama,” Indah said.
