‘Umemuona wewe?’: Zuchu’s mum sends warning to people claiming Diamond is dating multiple women

Taarab icon Khadija Kopa, the mother of Tanzanian singer Zuchu, has hit back at people who continue to speculate that her daughter’s partner, Diamond Platnumz, is romantically involved with other women.
Speaking to Tanzanian YouTubers on Saturday, August 1, 2026, Khadija dismissed the claims as mere speculation, questioning whether those making the allegations had personally seen Diamond with the women they claim he is dating.
“You are saying he is in many relationships with other women. You yourself have seen him with those women?” Khadija asked, challenging those who claim that Diamond is involved in other relationships.
According to Zuchu’s mother, many of the claims circulating online are based on people connecting unrelated events and drawing their own conclusions without having concrete evidence.
“That is just people joining dots and speculating. That is why you yourself have not seen him,” she said.
Khadija went on to caution that similar rumours could be made about anyone, including herself, without necessarily being true.
“Even people can also say such things and lie about people like me, but it may not be true,” she added.
The taarab star further revealed that she does not lose sleep over gossip surrounding her daughter and Diamond’s relationship, saying she has no reason to allow speculation to disturb her peace.
“Such gossip does not give me sleepless nights at all. There is no reason. We do not deal with or focus our time on speculations,” she said.
Khadija also suggested that some people appear uncomfortable whenever they see two people living harmoniously, claiming that they instead prefer to speculate about when the couple will separate.
“Those are normal things about human beings, and most of them never like to see two people in harmony. They want to keep asking when they will divorce,” she said.
The comments come amid heightened public interest in the relationship between Diamond and Zuchu, particularly as the couple prepares to welcome their first child together.
The pair recently held a lavish baby shower, where they revealed that they are expecting a baby girl. The celebration was attended by family, friends and prominent figures from Tanzania’s entertainment industry.
Diamond praised Zuchu for the sacrifice and commitment involved in carrying their baby, saying no amount of money could compare with the gift she had given him.
The couple’s public appearance together attracted significant attention, particularly because it came weeks after Zuchu had announced that they had separated and were going through a divorce.
However, their recent baby shower and the impending arrival of their daughter have once again placed their relationship at the centre of public attention.
