TikTok sensation Fardosa’s Turkana camp helper Shangazi has revealed that the young woman’s recent hospitalisation was linked to excessive alcohol consumption as she disclosed plans to take her to a rehabilitation centre.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Shangazi said Fardosa had already been discharged from hospital and was temporarily staying with one of her aunts as she continued recovering.

Shangazi said Fardosa would spend about a week at her aunt’s home, where she would take her medication and regain her strength before the next stage of her recovery begins.

“So Fardosa has been discharged from the hospital and one of her aunts has gone with her to her home so she can stay there a bit. She will stay there for one week, take her medication and be stronger,” Shangazi said.

She explained that the family was now searching for a suitable rehabilitation centre where Fardosa could receive help overcoming her drinking problem.

“We are now looking for rehabilitation we can take her to because if she goes back to the village we were living in, she will go back to drinking alcohol,” she said.

According to Shangazi, the concern was that returning Fardosa to the same environment where she had previously been living could expose her to the habits that had contributed to her health problems.

She described excessive alcohol consumption as Fardosa’s “biggest problem” and said the drinking had been accompanied by other behaviours that had further affected her wellbeing.

“Her biggest problem has been too much drinking and she was not taking her medication and she was also not eating food,” Shangazi said.

Death rumours

During the same video, Shangazi also spoke about the false reports and images circulating on social media claiming that Fardosa had died.

She said she had come across people creating and circulating fake photographs purporting to show that the TikTok sensation had passed away, despite her being alive.

“And then also I have seen these people who have been creating and circulating false photos claiming that Fardosa has died,” Shangazi said.

She strongly condemned those behind the reports and urged social media users not to wish death on other people or spread information without considering its consequences.

“I tell you, please never wish death on someone else,” she said.

Shangazi also appealed to people to remember that the individuals targeted by such false reports have families and friends who care deeply about them.

“Before you post something, always remember that everyone has family and friends who love them and can feel bad about such fake news,” she said.

She revealed that the false reports had already caused distress within Fardosa’s family, particularly her mother.

According to Shangazi, Fardosa’s mother approached her on Tuesday morning believing that the reports about her daughter’s death could be true.

“So this morning Fardosa’s mum came to me and she thought it was true that her child had died, but we thank God that Fardosa is alive,” Shangazi said.

The revelation highlighted the real-life consequences of the false reports, which had not only worried Fardosa’s online followers but had also reached her family and caused them considerable distress.

Fardosa’s worrying hospitalisation

Shangazi’s latest update comes days after Fardosa was taken to hospital in worrying circumstances, with footage of the incident prompting concern among her thousands of followers.

In a video shared online, Fardosa was seen being rushed into a hospital in Turkana while sitting weakly in a wheelchair.

Several women accompanied her as she was taken into the facility, with an IV drip connected to her hand as she received medical attention.

Fardosa appeared visibly weak in the footage and at times kept her eyes closed, with the scenes prompting fans to flood social media with prayers and messages wishing her a quick recovery.

The women were later seen taking her into a ward where several beds had been arranged and covered with mosquito nets before placing her on one of the beds.

The worrying footage came from Shangazi, who used gospel singer Solomon Mkubwa’s song Mungu Mwenye Nguvu as the background track, adding to the sombre mood surrounding the video.
