Gospel singer Triza Njeri has opened up about her expectations for any future relationship, making it clear that she no longer sees herself taking on traditional cooking duties after a long day of work.

Speaking in a TikTok live on Friday, June 19, 2026, the singer, who was previously in a relationship with Facebook influencer Karangu Muraya, said she wants a partner who will work alongside her to build a better future rather than one who expects her to shoulder household responsibilities alone.

She suggested that modern relationships should be built on partnership and shared goals, especially when it comes to financial growth.

According to the gospel singer, any man who chooses to marry her should be prepared to work with her and support her ambitions instead of expecting her to spend most of her time in the kitchen.

“Now, if someone marries me, let them marry me, and we do business and look for money together. But let them not pester me to stay there just to cook,” she said.

Triza argued that there are now professional cooks and home chefs who can be hired to prepare meals, making it unnecessary for working women to carry the burden of cooking every day.

“Right now we have home chefs who you can call to cook,” she added.

The singer admitted that balancing work and cooking can be difficult, especially after an exhausting day.

She explained that there are times when she returns home feeling completely drained and cannot imagine having to prepare meals for another person.

“I cannot look for the money and also stay there to cook. No. I am imagining a time like now; the way I am tired, I cannot imagine that I would even go home to cook for someone,” she said.

Despite describing herself as a good cook, Triza maintained that she would still struggle to prepare meals after spending the day working.

“Even if I am so good at cooking, I cannot even cook when I am tired after work,” she stated.

The gospel singer further explained that her lifestyle has changed over time, noting that she now prioritises rest and recovery whenever she gets home after a busy day.

According to her, she no longer feels pressured to meet expectations that leave her physically exhausted.

“Nowadays if I am working, I rest later and only shower and rest,” she said.

Triza also pointed out that she does not consume large amounts of food and therefore sees no reason to spend significant amounts of time preparing meals every day.

“Now I don’t even have pressure for anything, and I don’t even eat a lot of foods,” she added.

The singer further argued that hiring professional chefs would not only make life easier for busy couples but would also create opportunities for people working in the food industry.

“Let chefs who can be hired get that money,” she said.

The comments also appeared to hint at a possible new chapter in Triza’s personal life, with the singer speaking openly about the qualities she would want in a future husband.

She stressed that she now understands how to fend for herself and generate income, adding that financial independence has shaped the way she views relationships.

“And now I even know how to look for that money,” she said.
