Tony Ndiema’s burial: Bolo Bespoke designs his final suit
By Valerian Khakayi, August 4, 2026As preparations continue for the final send-off of late Ohangla superstar Anton Okoth Ochieng, widely known as Tony Ndiema, fashion designer Austin of Bolo Bespoke has honoured the musician by designing his final suit ahead of his burial.
In an emotional tribute shared on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Bolo Bespoke described the responsibility of tailoring Tony’s final attire as a privilege and an honour, saying it was a duty they did not take lightly.
“It is both a privilege and a profound honour to tailor your final suit as you take your eternal rest, Jangoma,” Bolo said.
The designer thanked Tony for trusting their hands with his final attire, while wishing him eternal rest and celebrating the legacy he leaves behind.
“This is a responsibility I do not take lightly. Thank you for trusting my hands with your final attire. May you rest in perfect peace, and may your legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you,” he added.
Tony Ndiema’s Burial Programme
Tony Ndiema will be laid to rest on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his ancestral home in Omoche Village, Gem Asumbi, Rangwe Constituency, Homa Bay County.
According to the funeral announcement and committee chairman Kokomoh Victor, Tony Ndiema’s body will be collected from Hema Mortuary in Kisii on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, ahead of his final journey home. The burial programme will begin with family members, relatives and friends assembling at the funeral home at noon before the body collection.
At 3:00 pm, mourners will take part in the viewing of the body and a short prayer service before the body departs from the funeral home in Kisii for Omoche Village.
Upon arrival at the homestead, guests will settle in, view the body and prepare for the night vigil.
At 9:00 pm, the programme will feature tributes and evangelical messages, followed by live musical performances at 11:00 pm in celebration of Tony Ndiema’s life and contribution to Ohangla music.
Final sendoff
On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, mourners will gather from 8:00 am for the final farewell ceremony. The programme will begin with body viewing, followed by an opening prayer at 9:00 am.
From 10:00 am, tributes and speeches will be delivered by friends, relatives, in-laws, family members, government representatives and political leaders. At noon, a church service will be held, featuring additional tributes and a vote of thanks.
The ceremony will then proceed with a procession to the graveside, where Tony Ndiema will be laid to rest, followed by the final prayer and blessing for the family.
