TikToker Malcolm warns Kenyans about new job scam targeting social media comments

In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, September 20, 2026, Malcolm raised the alarm over people who use comment sections to claim they have jobs or opportunities available, often asking interested users to contact them through direct messages.
Malcolm urged his followers to be cautious when they come across comments from people claiming to have jobs, especially when the offers appear too good to be true.
“Ukiona kwa comment section, ati msee anasema ati ako na kazi, ama sijui, ako na opportunities za kazi yetu, DM. Ama oooh sijui akupeleke Canada,” Malcolm said.
Warning over job scams
The content creator warned that some of the people making such claims could be attempting to trick unsuspecting job seekers.
“Jua mtu wangu, hapo unataka kulambishwa manze scam ingine mwecheche,” he said.
Malcolm appeared particularly concerned about social media users who quickly trust strangers offering jobs without first checking their identity or the legitimacy of the opportunities they advertise.
He encouraged his followers to look closely at the accounts making such claims and to be cautious when dealing with unfamiliar profiles.
Questions suspicious accounts
Malcolm also questioned accounts that appear to have been created recently but immediately begin advertising job opportunities to other users.
He challenged such individuals over their claims, pointing out the suspicious nature of someone opening an account and immediately claiming to have jobs available.
“Kwanza mtu kama… mtu amefungua tu account leo na anasema ati kuna kazi. Apatie familia yake hiyo kazi jo,” Malcolm said.
His warning comes as social media platforms continue to serve as spaces where job seekers look for employment opportunities and connect with potential employers.
Malcolm urged users to exercise caution before engaging with people promising jobs through comment sections or direct messages.
