TikTok sensation Fardosa hospitalised in worrying condition as fans rally behind her in prayer
By Steve Ireri, August 17, 2026Fardosa, a budding Turkana woman who went viral on the video-sharing platform TikTok in 2025 after videos of her sharing the things she loves and those she cannot eat captured the attention of thousands, has been hospitalised in a worrying condition.
The news of her illness was shared by her camp helper, Shangazi, who appealed to her vast fanbase to keep her in their prayers as they seek better treatment for her.
“A word of prayer to Fardosa,” Shangazi wrote.
In a video shared on TikTok on Sunday, August 16, 2026, Fardosa is seen being rushed into a hospital in Turkana by several women while sitting weakly in a wheelchair.
She appeared visibly unwell and, from time to time, kept her eyes closed as though struggling with pain, with the concerning scenes prompting an outpouring of prayers from her worried fans.
The women are also seen carrying an IV drip containing a clear liquid, which had been connected to Fardosa’s hand and was steadily administering the fluid into her body as doctors made attempts to stabilise her.

In the video, the women are later seen arriving inside a ward where numerous beds had been arranged, each covered with a mosquito net, before placing her on one of them and leaving doctors to conduct a full examination.
While sitting on the bed, Fardosa looked increasingly frail and kept staring towards one side, appearing weak as fans reacted to the worrying images by sending prayers and messages of support.
While sharing the sad video, Shangazi used gospel singer Solomon Mkubwa’s hit song ‘Mungu Mwenye Nguvu’ as the background music, giving the already sombre scenes an even more poignant tone for Fardosa’s fans.

Unlike the polished skits and dance challenges that often dominate TikTok, Fardosa attracted attention through her brutally honest opinions about the food placed before her. Her facial expressions, distinctive voice and comic frustration quickly turned routine mealtimes into viral entertainment.
Much of the content was recorded and shared by her camp helper, Shangazi, who captured Fardosa as she inspected different meals and openly explained what she liked and what she could not eat.
Her food preferences soon became part of her appeal. She particularly loved maziwa mala and meat, which she described as her medicine, while cabbage was among the foods she avoided because of the discomfort it caused her stomach.
One of the videos that helped propel her to wider attention showed her rejecting rice mixed with beans. Fardosa was visibly unimpressed with the meal and complained that she could not even properly identify what had been served.
When Shangazi playfully reminded her that she had not helped prepare the meal, Fardosa did not back down. Instead, she explained that she disliked the rice-and-beans mixture and even had a preferred way in which her food should be served.
“This is not my plate; the rice and beans are mixed. No, I want my soup on the side and my rice on the side. I do not want this. The plate I want is over there, and it’s a double portion,” she said.
Soon, TikTok users began creating their own videos using her voice and memorable reactions, further pushing her into the platform’s mainstream.
