Revered Tanzanian gospel singer Christina Shusho has humbled herself by kneeling before the widow of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as she presented her with a kitenge attire that she had brought all the way from Tanzania.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, August 16, 2026, the ‘Miujiza’ hitmaker is seen arriving at a tastefully arranged house where Mama Ida and other prominent female government officials were gathered, dressed in elegant kitenge outfits.

Christina is seen proceeding to kneel down before Mama Ida before retrieving the kitenge piece she had brought as a personal gift for the widow, leaving her visibly emotional as she spoke warmly and affectionately about the singer.

The video shows Mama Ida reacting with visible disbelief after the singer knelt before her.

She then warmly received the gift Christina had brought and blessed her in return with warm and encouraging words.

Christina shared the video using her hit gospel song ‘Miujiza’ as the background music, leaving her fans similarly moved as they watched the touching encounter unfold.

While sharing the clip, she also reflected on the long journey she has undertaken as a gospel singer and how well it is progressing, to the extent that she is now meeting prominent women leaders such as Mama Ida.

She added that she believes such journeys always flourish one step at a time and proceeded to thank Mama Ida for hosting her and graciously receiving the gift she had brought.

“Safari bado inaendelea. One step at a time. Thank you, Mama Ida Odinga,” she wrote.

21-day fasting

The development comes only days after the singer reflected on a period marked by faith, intentionality, and hope following the conclusion of her annual 21-day prayer and fasting programme for 2026.

In a post shared on her Facebook on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Shusho expressed gratitude for what she described as God’s visible guidance throughout every day of the spiritual exercise.

“21 Days of Prayer and Fasting 2026 has come to an end, and tomorrow marks the climax. Looking back, I can see His fingerprint on every single day,” she wrote.

She said the 21 days were filled with purpose, spiritual reflection, and moments where she witnessed the Lord’s hand at work in her life.

“These 21 days were filled with intentionality and hope,” she shared.

Looking ahead, she invited her followers and the public to the climax of the programme, scheduled for today, Sunday, February 1, 2026.

The final gathering will be held at the Dreamers Centre Fellowship in Manzese, with the service beginning at 8:00 am local time. Shusho encouraged everyone to attend, emphasising that all are welcome to participate in the closing service.

“We will meet tomorrow at the church, Dreamers Centre Fellowship in Manzese, Tip-Top, at exactly 8:00 a.m. All are welcome to join,” she wrote.
