The dispute flared on July 31, 2026, when Mapesa took to social media to claim that Tanasha owed him millions of Kenyan shillings – an assertion that the singer has unequivocally denied, describing the individual as a stranger seeking attention at her expense.
In a series of public posts, Mapesa said that Tanasha borrowed money from him roughly a year ago. He claimed the funds were intended for cosmetic procedures, adding that interest had caused the alleged debt to balloon.
However, Mapesa did not publicly provide bank statements, signed contracts, or digital receipts to corroborate the transaction at the time of his posts.
Tanasha moved quickly to refute the claims, dismissing them as entirely baseless.
Responding through her Instagram story on Friday, July 31, 2026, Tanasha dismissed the claims as false and challenged Madollar Mapesa to provide evidence.
“I normally don’t respond to fabricated stories online, but this has gone far enough,” she wrote.
Tanasha said she had never met the businessman, borrowed money from him or entered into any financial arrangement with him.
“I have NEVER met this individual in my life. I do not know him, I have never borrowed money from him, and I have never had any financial dealings with him whatsoever,” she said.
The singer also addressed Madollar Mapesa’s claims that he had “receipts” to support his claims, urging him to make them public.
“He keeps referring to ‘receipts.’ Please, POST THEM. Show the transaction, the agreement, the communication, the meeting – anything that proves I personally borrowed money from you. You cannot, because it never happened,” she said.
Tanasha further said people had previously attempted to use her name and public image to manufacture stories for attention, adding that she had ignored similar incidents in the past.
“If you are going to publicly accuse me of owing you money, then publicly provide the evidence. Otherwise, stop using my name and image to spread false information.
“I have never met you. I do not know you. I do not owe you.”
As the public exchange between Tanasha Donna and Madollar Mapesa continues to attract attention, it remains unclear whether the fallout will escalate to the corridors of justice or be resolved privately.
For now, both sides of the dispute have offered their perspectives, leaving fans to follow any further developments as they emerge.
