Tallia Oyando shocked by what she found after reactivating her Snapchat account
By Valerian Khakayi, September 25, 2026Kenyan media personality Tallia Oyando has expressed shock over her experience after reactivating her Snapchat account following a seven-year break from the social media platform.
Oyando took to social media to question some of the interactions she has encountered since returning to the platform, particularly the calls, videos and pictures she said she has been receiving.
“I just reactivated my Snapchat after 7 years. Wthellllyyyy, is that a pit hole?” Oyando wrote on Thursday, September 24,2026.
She went on to question the type of content being sent to her while appearing particularly surprised by the frequency of calls from other users.
“What’s wrong with people (in a certain country I shall not name) with those videos and pictures they keep sending? Why do they keep calling me alllll the time?” she asked.
Oyando also questioned whether users can prevent others from calling them through the platform.
“Why can’t I block calls?” she asked.
The media personality further expressed confusion over some of the interactions she has experienced since returning to Snapchat.
“Why are some people weird?” Oyando questioned.
She also revealed that one person had allegedly insulted her after she declined to share her location.
“Why is someone cussing me out because I am not sharing my location with them???????” she added.
Her reaction highlighted some of the unexpected interactions users can encounter when using social media platforms, particularly when reconnecting with an account after several years away.
How Snapchat works
Snapchat is a social media platform built around sharing photos, videos and messages, with much of its content designed to disappear after being viewed.
Users can connect with friends and other accounts, send direct messages, share photos and videos, and make voice or video calls. The platform also allows users to control who can contact them and who can view certain aspects of their activity.
Snapchat also has a location-sharing feature known as Snap Map, which allows users to share their location with selected friends. However, location sharing is optional, and users can choose whether to share their location or activate Ghost Mode to hide their location from others.
Oyando’s return to the platform after seven years has therefore given her a fresh look at how Snapchat and its user interactions have evolved during her absence.
