Stoopid Boy tragic death: What we know so far about the deceased rapper
By William Muthama, August 27, 2026Rapper Stoopid Boy, known for the viral Arbantone hit “G Bag Na Jug”, has died.
His death was confirmed by his friend and fellow artiste Raveen Domi on Thursday, August 27, 2026 who shared the news while at Gota City, saying the community was mourning the loss of one of its talented musicians.
Domi said he had seen Stoopid Boy the day before his death and that the rapper appeared to be in good spirits. He said they spent some time together on the streets before Stoopid Boy told him he was heading to the studio to continue working on his music.
“Jamaa hata jana alikuwa tu fiti. Tumekuwa naye hapa kwa street kidogo kidogo, akaniambia anaenda studio. So alikuwa na ngoma alikuwa anaendelea kurecord,” Domi said.
Domi described Stoopid Boy as a musician who still had plans for his career and several unfinished projects.
“So jamaa ameondoka kama ako na unfinished dreams guys. Sad kabisa. Na tumepoteza msanii. Like Gota City kila mtu ana-mourn tu huku. Ni mbaya tu guys,” he said.
Last encounter
Domi also recalled a brief encounter with Stoopid Boy as he was leaving his house and heading to Mukuru.
He said the rapper asked him for Ksh25, but he did not have the money at the time. Domi told him he would try to get some money after reaching Mukuru and bring it to him.
“Nilikuwa natoka kwangu nikienda Mukuru, so akaniomba, I think alikuwa na number 25 bob, of which sikuwa nayo. Nikamwambia, ‘Ah bro sina, labda nikifika Mukuru nipate nikulete hivi,’” Domi said.
That would become their final interaction.
Domi said he later returned home and was called outside, where he was informed that Stoopid Boy had died at his mother’s house.
“Nimekaa hapo kwa nyumba kidogo kidogo, naitwa hapo nje, naambiwa Stoopid Boy amejinyonga na amejiinyonga kwa mamake. So sad guys, sad news kabisa,” he said.
The news left Domi struggling to find words to describe the loss.
“Like hata sijui niseme nini guys, walai. Sijui niseme nini,” he said.
Drug use struggle
Domi said he and Stoopid Boy had discussed several projects they hoped to work on together but never got the chance to complete them.
“Personally tulikuwa na a lot of projects alikuwa anataka tupige pamoja but hatukuwanga tumezipiga. Sad. Hivyo ndio kijana ameenda,” he said.
He added that Stoopid Boy had remained focused on music and was working on new material shortly before his death

The rapper had previously spoken publicly about his struggles with alcohol and drug use and his efforts to turn his life around.
In early 2025, he sought help through Oga Obinna’s platform and was assisted by Obinna, Dr Castro, King Pheezle and other well-wishers to enter a three-month rehabilitation programme.
After leaving rehabilitation, however, Stoopid Boy spoke about difficulties he faced and later returned to Gota City, where he struggled with relapse.
Another family loss
The death comes shortly after another family tragedy. Last month, Stoopid Boy publicly mourned his older brother Yan, adding another painful loss for the family.
The rapper had also faced well-documented personal struggles, including battles with alcohol and drugs that led to a rehabilitation stint in 2025.
His struggles also affected his relationship with the mother of his children, and in March 2026, he issued a public suicide threat following a domestic dispute.
