Steve wa Massage makes social media come back after hiatus

By , September 22, 2026

Kenyan massage therapist and content creator Stephen Collins Kariuki, alias Steve Wa Massage, has made a return to social media after months away, prompting renewed interest among followers who had been asking about his whereabouts.

Steve resurfaced on Instagram with a reflective message, saying that every day above the ground is a blessing and encouraging his followers to make each day count.

“Every day above the ground is a blessing; make it count,” Steve wrote on Tuesday, September 22,2026.

The content creator also appeared to have dropped the tag name Wakaniaru University on his Instagram username, adding another talking point for followers following his return.

His comeback comes after a lengthy period of inactivity on the platform. Steve’s last Instagram post before his latest update was made about 31 weeks ago, meaning his return has caught the attention of people who had been wondering why he had seemingly disappeared from social media.

While Steve did not explain the reason behind his long absence in his latest post, his message focused on appreciating life and making the most of each day.

Steve on mental health

His return also comes months after he opened up about his personal struggles, particularly his experiences with mental health.

In June 2026, Steve spoke candidly about the misconception that mental health struggles are always connected to financial difficulties. He explained that his own experiences had shown him that someone could appear to be doing well financially and still struggle internally.

“Most people who struggle mentally do not speak because of the misconceptions around that topic,” he said at the time.

Steve further explained that his mental health struggles could affect his productivity, which could eventually result in financial difficulties rather than financial problems being the initial cause.

“For me, if I ever struggle financially, it’s because I have not been able to do things normally,” he explained.

The comments gave followers a glimpse into the challenges he had previously spoken about, although Steve has not linked his latest social media absence to those struggles.

His latest Instagram update has therefore sparked fresh curiosity, with followers now keen to see whether his return marks the beginning of regular activity on social media.

For now, Steve’s message is centred on gratitude and making every day count, as he reconnects with an audience that has been waiting to hear from him.
