The lawmaker lauded the superstar’s unique ability to completely transcend linguistic borders using purely localised East African sounds.
Taking to social media, Salasya highlighted how Diamond -vaffectionately known to his fans as ‘Simba’ – successfully commanded a packed international stadium in a predominantly Arabic- and French-speaking North African nation, despite performing his extensive catalogue primarily in Swahili and English.
Expressing his admiration for the historic feat, Salasya shared his firsthand impressions of the sheer scale of the event with his followers.
“Morocco was big Simba, I was in Morocco language barrier they speak French and Arabic but music is spiritual,” Salasya wrote in a viral Instagram post on Friday, July 17, 2026.
The spectacular concert took place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, on the iconic Bouregreg Stage in Rabat, Morocco.
The performance was part of the world-renowned Mawazine Festival (Rhythms of the World), which stands firmly as one of Africa’s largest and most prestigious music festivals.
The high-stakes performance served as a major international milestone for Diamond’s highly anticipated global Retro Tour 2026.
Proving his massive star power on the continental stage, the Tanzanian hitmaker shared the star-studded festival lineup alongside global icons like Travis Scott, Offset, Rema, and Tyla, drawing thousands of ecstatic fans to his specific stage.
Salasya’s praise underscores a growing appreciation for African artistes who refuse to dilute their native languages to appeal to global markets.
By packing out the Bouregreg Stage while singing in Swahili, Diamond Platnumz has once again solidified his status as East Africa’s premier musical ambassador.
For fans and political figures alike, the success of the Rabat concert proves that rhythm, energy, and a spiritual connection to music will always speak louder than words.
