Roaming Chef Ombachi opens up about unexpected side of raising daughters

In a post shared today, the chef reflected on his experience raising his daughter alongside a video capturing different moments from their lives. He began by challenging the popular description of daughters as their fathers’ little princesses.
“They say daughters are their father’s little princesses, but I think they’re just karma dressed up in a pretty dress,” he wrote, accompanying the statement with laughing emojis.
The attitude
Roaming Chef explained that raising daughters had not turned out exactly as he imagined. According to him, while he expected the experience to come with the usual joys of fatherhood, nobody prepared him for his daughter’s attitude.
“What I thought raising daughters would be, but nobody told me about the attitude,” he wrote.
He went on to compare his daughter’s personality to his own childhood behaviour, recalling a humorous incident involving his father’s radio.
“At my son’s age I poured hot porridge into my father’s radio because the news presenter said it was lunchtime,” he recalled.
The memory appeared to serve as his explanation for why he believes his daughter’s behaviour may be a form of karma coming back to him.
She has the world at her feet
Looking ahead, Roaming Chef also joked about the possibility of his daughter growing into a strong-willed young woman who will not easily be told what to do.
“One day a boy is going to try to tell her what to do, that’ll be fun to watch,” he wrote.
He humorously sympathised with the unnamed boy, suggesting that he would be in for a surprise if he ever tried to control her.
“Poor guy will think he’s dealing with Moana only to end up with a nonchalant version of myself,” he added.
Roaming Chef concluded by describing his daughter as someone who already appears determined to live life on her own terms.
“She has the world at her feet with absolutely no intention of doing what the world tells her to do,” he wrote.
His post offered a light-hearted take on parenting, while celebrating the confidence, independence and strong personality he sees in his daughter.
