Pritty Vishy celebrates sister’s 14th birthday, recalls becoming her ‘mother’

In a heartfelt birthday message shared on Instagram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Vishy recalled how she had to take on a motherly role after their mother went abroad, despite having no experience.
Stepping in as a mother
Vishy said her mother’s departure forced her to change her ways as she focused on protecting her younger sister and being present for her.
“And just like that my Thonye is 14..you me completely, after mummy went I had to step in as a mother with no experience,” she wrote.
She explained that she had to adjust to the new responsibility because, at the time, the two sisters only had each other.
“I had to change my ways only to protect and be present, we only had each other,” Vishy added.
The experience, she said, brought them closer and shaped the way they relate to each other.
We had to understand each other
Vishy reflected on how she and Thonye developed a unique understanding of each other as they navigated their relationship.
“We had to understand each other in a different way,” she wrote.
She jokingly noted that she has become so familiar with her younger sister that she can understand her even without gestures.
“Up to now I don’t know how I understand you perfectly okay without gestures ,” Vishy said.
She also assured Thonye that she would continue to support and love her openly, regardless of what other people might think.
“I will always love you so loudly that you won’t care about those who don’t love you my baby,” she wrote.
Her prayer for Thonye
As she celebrated the milestone, Vishy shared her everyday prayer for her sister, saying she hopes Thonye will be able to communicate her needs and pain so that she can understand her better.
“My everyday prayer for you is you get to talk so I can know your needs and pains my baby,” she wrote.
Vishy joked that, for now, she already knows one of Thonye’s favourite things like travelling in a car.
“But for now I know unapenda kupanda gari,” she said, promising to one day take her sister on endless rides.
“One day I will one and I will take you to endless rides,” Vishy added.
She concluded by wishing her “favorite human” a happy birthday and affectionately calling her “my thonye wa mathonye.”
