Pastor Kanyari makes new political declaration after holding rally with Ndindi Nyoro in Njiiru
By Steve Ireri, September 19, 2026Salvation Healing Ministry founder and Kasarani parliamentary aspirant Pastor Victor Kanyari has made a fresh political declaration after sharing a platform with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro during a public engagement in Ruai.
The two politicians attended the ordination ceremony of Rev Jacob Gathuku at New Covenant in Jesus Christ Church in Ruai on Saturday Spetember 19, 2026, before later addressing residents in parts of the area, including Njiiru, where Kanyari’s church is based.
During the gathering, Nyoro invited Kanyari to the stage to make remarks as the session came to a close, giving the preacher an opportunity to speak about his political ambitions and his decision to work with the Kiharu lawmaker.
“And I want to welcome Pastor Kanyari now to make some remarks as we close that session. So, Pastor Kanyari, come to the stage,” Nyoro said.
Kanyari began his address by praising the message delivered during the church gathering, particularly the call for people to forgive one another.
“I am Kanyari Mwangi. The pastor has preached well and has said we be forgiving each other,” he said.
The preacher then spoke about his long-standing desire to support people in need before revealing that his encounter with Nyoro was significant because it was the first time the two had met face to face.
“And I am one of those people who always love to support others and those in need. And this is my first time seeing Ndindi Nyoro face-to-face,” Kanyari said.
He said his public engagements had largely revolved around religious circles, explaining that he was accustomed to meeting fellow pastors rather than politicians.
“I have never seen him. You know, I am never in such circles, so I always meet and see pastors. And today I have seen him,” he said.
Kanyari then turned his attention to Nyoro’s record in Kiharu, praising what he described as the MP’s work in education and other areas of his constituency.
He specifically highlighted what he said were affordable education opportunities in Kiharu, as well as the provision of chapatis to students at the end of every month.
“And you all know the good work he is doing in his constituency. Even education is only KSh500 there. And there every end month students eat chapatis,” Kanyari said.
The remarks preceded Kanyari’s own political declaration, in which he drew a direct comparison between himself and Nyoro while outlining his ambitions for Kasarani.
“And I will become the Ndindi Nyoro of here, Kasarani. Kasarani deserves my leadership as MP so it can rise,” he said.
Kanyari then asked residents to support his bid for the Kasarani parliamentary seat, linking his political ambition to what he described as development challenges facing the constituency.
“I want you all to vote for me,” he said.
The preacher also singled out Njiiru, where he said residents continue to face challenges involving roads and education.
“And in Njiiru also we have no roads and education is poor. That is why I want you all to vote for me,” Kanyari said.
He subsequently explained why he had chosen to work alongside Nyoro, saying the two had joined hands as he pursued his political ambitions.
“And that is why I have joined hands with Ndindi Nyoro,” he said.
