Paska speaks on bringing Njerae into Haitian Konpa vibe with ‘No More Drama’
By Valerian Khakayi, September 25, 2026Haitian-Congolese musician Paska has spoken about his latest collaboration with Kenyan singer Njerae, saying he is excited for listeners to discover her on a Haitian Konpa-inspired sound.
Paska and Njerae have teamed up on their new single, ‘No More Drama’, which has been released on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Sharing his excitement following the release, Paska, who is currently in Kenya, said he was particularly looking forward to introducing Njerae to the Konpa vibe.
“Today, I released a new single with Njerae called ‘No more drama’. I am so excited for the public to discover that song, especially discovering Njerae on Konpa vibe,” Paska said during an interview.
“It is going to be very interesting.”
Paska and Njerae blend two musical worlds
‘No More Drama’ brings together Paska’s Haitian and Congolese musical influences with Njerae’s contemporary Kenyan R&B sound.
The track blends Haitian Konpa with East African R&B, creating a cross-cultural sound that draws from both artists’ musical backgrounds.
The song also incorporates Haitian Creole, Lingala and Swahili, bringing together the different languages and cultures that influence Paska’s music. The track explores themes of love, heartbreak and relationships.
For Paska, the collaboration offered an opportunity to introduce Njerae to a sound rooted in his Haitian heritage while allowing the Kenyan singer to bring her own musical identity to the record.
“I think music has always been my way of creating a home between different parts of who I am. Being Haitian-Congolese, I grew up with different cultures, languages and sounds, so bringing them together feels very natural to me,” Paska said.
“Hearing Swahili alongside Haitian Creole and Lingala is a reminder that even when our languages are different, the emotions we sing about are universal.”
Paska also spoke about his desire to introduce Konpa to more African listeners while retaining its Haitian identity.
“I believe it has a natural place in Africa because of the importance we all place on rhythm, melody, dance and storytelling,” he said.
“I don’t want Konpa to lose its Haitian soul. I want Africa to discover it, embrace it and create something new with it while respecting where it comes from.”
Njerae on working with Paska
Njerae described the collaboration as a smooth creative experience, praising Paska’s approach while working on the record.
“Collaborating with Paska has been so seamless, and I appreciated how patient and detailed he was creating the record together,” she said.
“The track shows how powerful we can be when two musical worlds collide, and I’m delighted to be a part of this moment.”
The collaboration continues Paska’s musical links with East Africa as he explores ways of connecting his Haitian Konpa roots with sounds from across the region.
