OnlyMoh: Inside the rise of Kenya’s fast-growing rap sensation

By , June 6, 2026

Rapper OnlyMoh is steadily carving out a name for himself in Kenya’s competitive hip-hop landscape, emerging as one of the most talked-about voices in the underground trap and drill scene.

Representing the hood of Donholm, OnlyMoh reflects a generation of young artistes using music to express street realities, ambition, and survival.

His sound blends heavy trap beats with Sheng-heavy lyricism and melodic flows that resonate strongly with Gen Z listeners.

He first stepped into the spotlight with his debut track Wagwan in 2024, marking his entry into the music scene and setting the foundation for what would become a fast-rising career.

ThirtyFourBrick collective

At the centre of his rise is the collective ThirtyFourBrick (34 Brick), where he works alongside Mauru Gwash, JayLo, and Unclean. The group has become a key force in pushing Nairobi’s underground rap culture into the mainstream conversation.

Their breakout moment came with tracks like Rima, which quickly gained traction online, amassing over 1.3 million YouTube views.

The song’s gritty visuals, sharp wordplay, and raw energy introduced OnlyMoh to a wider audience and positioned him as one of the standout voices in the crew.

Other group projects, such as Kigonyi, Daily, and Inspekta, further strengthened the collective’s reputation, building a loyal fanbase that continues to grow across digital platforms.

Solo breakthrough

Only Moh’s solo career has also taken off. His track Osama, released in early 2026, became a viral street anthem, crossing 1.3 million views and cementing his presence as more than just a group member.

Before Osama, OnlyMoh had already been building momentum with earlier solo releases, including Robin Hood (Freestyle) and Trap, both of which surpassed one million views and helped establish his presence as a rising solo act.

Unlike many rising rappers, his growth has been steady and consistent. Within just one year, he has released multiple tracks, with at least three songs crossing the one-million-view mark, signalling strong and sustained audience engagement.

What sets him apart is not just consistency but focus. Only Moh has carved out a clear niche audience, largely made up of young listeners who relate to his raw storytelling, street narratives, and unfiltered delivery.
