Oga Obinna accepts Salasya’s proposal to fight Andrew Kibe at Vurugu 3
By William Muthama, June 28, 2026Media personality Oga Obinna has accepted a proposal by Mumias East MP Peter Salasya to organise a boxing match against content creator Andrew Kibe at Vurugu 3.
The proposal comes after months of public exchanges between Salasya and Kibe, who have repeatedly traded barbs on social media and in interviews.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Obinna responded to Salasya’s request by expressing his readiness to organise the bout, provided Kibe agrees to step into the ring.
“@peter_salasya, your wish is my command. Talk to him to accept the challenge. We start by putting 2M Hard Cash. I’m sure it can get to 5M #Vurugu3,” Obinna wrote.

He also took a swipe at Kibe while speaking about the proposed prize money.
“Salasya doesn’t really need the money; his opponent does. Let’s go!!!” he added.
Obinna’s remarks suggest the fight would begin with a guaranteed Ksh2 million purse, with the potential to rise to Ksh5 million through sponsorships and other partnerships.
Long-running rivalry
The proposed bout follows a long-running online feud between Salasya and Kibe.
Kibe has on several occasions criticised and mocked the legislator’s lifestyle, fashion choices and political style through his online shows.
Salasya has responded by accusing the former radio presenter of using controversy to remain relevant, with both men continuing to exchange public jabs.
Their rivalry has attracted significant attention online, prompting supporters to repeatedly call for the pair to settle their differences in the boxing ring.

Although Obinna did not announce a date for the proposed contest, he has previously indicated that Vurugu 3 is expected to take place in December 2026.
The celebrity boxing event has grown into one of Kenya’s biggest entertainment spectacles, bringing together public figures, influencers and content creators for high-profile bouts.
With Obinna publicly backing the idea and pledging an initial Ksh2 million prize pool, attention now turns to Andrew Kibe, who is yet to respond to the challenge.
If Kibe accepts, the fight would add another headline attraction to Vurugu 3 and bring one of Kenya’s most talked-about social media feuds into the boxing ring.
