Msaliti ni msaliti: Mosiria warns Sifuna against reconciling with Babu Owino
By Trizer Lijondo, September 23, 2026Geoffrey Mosiria has warned Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna against reconciling with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, arguing that making peace with someone who has previously betrayed you could have political consequences.
In a post shared on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Mosiria wrote: “Msaliti ni msaliti. Never give a second chance to someone who once betrayed you. Judas will forever remain Judas.”
Mosiria went on to link his argument to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, claiming that his willingness to forgive people who betrayed him and allow them back into his inner circle contributed to his failure to become president.
Mosiria warns Sifuna against reconciliation
In the accompanying voice note, Mosiria repeatedly cautioned Sifuna against making peace with Babu, claiming that reconciliation would give his political rival another opportunity to undermine him.
“The worst mistake you can make is forgiving a traitor,” Mosiria said, adding that Sifuna should be careful about any attempt to reconcile with Babu.
He further warned Sifuna against sharing a table, food or car with Babu, arguing that someone who betrayed you once could return with another agenda.
Mosiria also claimed that Babu was seeking to negotiate and reconcile with opposition figures, including Sifuna. He argued that accepting such a reconciliation could strengthen Babu politically while weakening Sifuna.
Sifuna’s star can be stolen
Mosiria also framed the disagreement as a contest over Sifuna’s growing political influence.
“After your struggle yote, nyota ya Baba imeingia kwako. Babu anataka kuiba hiyo nyota through backdoor,” he said, warning that Sifuna’s political standing could be affected if he reconciled with Babu.
He maintained that Babu would emerge politically stronger from such a reconciliation, saying it would “validate Babu’s mediocracy” and give him an advantage.
Mosiria also revisited his argument about Raila, saying that the former premier’s habit of forgiving those who betrayed him and bringing them back close ultimately worked against him. He warned Sifuna not to repeat what he described as the same mistake.
Mosiria ended by reiterating his warning to Sifuna, saying he was speaking about the matter for the last time and urging him not to make peace with someone he considers a traitor.
