Content creator Milly Chebby has fulfilled another promise to the family of the late James Kimani, announcing that she will build a permanent home for his mother following the young man’s sudden death.

Speaking in a video shared on her YouTube channel on Friday, July 3, 2026, Chebby emotionally recounted how she first met him in 2023, saying the encounter changed both their lives.

“I want to give you all a short story of how I met Kimani. One time, I was living in Thindigua. It was in 2023. I was driving out of Thindigua to work. I am a content creator, and it was around 11 a.m.,” she recalled.

Chebby revealed that after learning about the family’s struggles, she and her husband decided to personally step in to improve their lives.

According to her, they raised money from their own pockets to purchase land for the family and are now determined to ensure Kimani’s mother has a decent home despite the tragedy that has befallen them.

“Now my husband and I have raised money from our own pockets. That money is not even from the community. We bought Kimani’s land, and I will build them a home,” she announced.

Chebby became emotional as she remembered the close bond Kimani shared with his mother, describing him as a son who constantly put his mother’s needs before his own.

“Kimani loved his mother so much. We all love our mothers, but Kimani loved his mum even more. He always spoke about her. He always looked after her,” she said.

The content creator also thanked everyone who had supported the family during one of the most painful moments of their lives, including members of her online community who answered her call for help.

“I stand here today to say thank you to every single person who ever touched their lives. God bless you. To my online community also, I will never forget you,” she said.

Chebby reaffirmed that her commitment to the family does not end with Kimani’s burial, promising to return and oversee the construction of a home that his entire family can proudly call their own.

“I am coming back so that we can build them a home that all of them will get to enjoy like any other decent family in Kenya. Thank you, and I love you so much,” she added.

Her remarks came just two days after she appealed to Kenyans to help the bereaved family meet a Ksh350,000 funeral budget.

In a social media post shared before the burial, Chebby revealed that the family was still Ksh208,000 short and appealed to her followers to contribute, noting that she had walked with Kimani’s family for the past two years.

“As many of you know, this is a family we have walked with for the past two years. Together, we moved them into a better home. Sadly, today we are standing with them in one of the hardest moments of their lives,” she wrote at the time.

She thanked Kenyans for always trusting her and for consistently showing up whenever families in need require support, saying their generosity had once again given hope to a grieving family.
