MC Jessy reveals reason he almost suffered heart attack after wearing Scotland’s famous kilt

Comedian and media personality MC Jessy has narrated a hilarious experience from one of his trips to Scotland, revealing that he nearly suffered a heart attack after embracing the country’s traditional dress code a little too seriously.

Sharing the funny memory on Facebook on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the comedian said the incident happened when he travelled to Scotland for a comedy show and decided that he wanted to fully immerse himself in the local culture instead of simply performing and returning home.

According to MC Jessy, he was being shown around by a Scottish friend whom he jokingly compared to Kenyan beach guides known for exaggerating stories to tourists.

“There’s a day I landed in Scotland for a comedy show, and I decided to say, ‘Today I must experience the REAL Scottish culture,'” he wrote.

He humorously likened his friend’s storytelling to that of some beach operators in Mombasa who convince tourists they will see mermaids while riding glass boats over coral reefs.

The comedian then explained that his guide recommended he wear Scotland’s famous traditional attire known as a kilt, describing it as royal clothing worn with great pride across the country.

MC Jessy, who jokingly refers to himself as the “Prince of Amerushire,” said the mention of royalty immediately convinced him to try it.

“So this Scottish friend told me, ‘If you want the real Scottish experience, you must wear the traditional attire called a kilt. It’s royal attire, worn with great pride,'” he recalled.

Excited by the idea, he agreed without hesitation, only to receive what appeared to be a smart jacket accompanied by what looked like a skirt instead of trousers.

“Woi! The guy brought me a nice suit on top, but underneath it was a skirt,” he joked.

Curious, MC Jessy asked where the trousers were, only to be informed that the kilt is traditionally worn exactly that way. His friend went a step further by insisting that, to fully honour Scottish culture, he should wear absolutely nothing underneath it.

The comedian humorously claimed he was even told members of the British royal family also wear kilts in the same manner, convincing him to follow the advice.

“As the only Prince of Amerushire, I said culture must be respected,” he joked.

After dressing in the traditional outfit, MC Jessy spent several hours touring the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh while enjoying the experience and learning more about the country’s heritage.

However, things took an unexpected turn later in the day when temperatures dropped to around minus five degrees Celsius.

He said the freezing weather was unlike anything he had ever experienced in Kenya, explaining that the cold gradually became unbearable.

According to the comedian, the icy temperatures left him feeling so numb that he jokingly feared one of the most important parts of his body had disappeared.

Wanting to reassure himself, he said he discreetly checked, only to become convinced that something was terribly wrong.

“By mistake I touched to see whether it was still there… Wueh! Empty!” he hilariously narrated.

Panicked, MC Jessy said he rushed to the washroom to confirm his fears.

“My fellow Kenyans, I thought the machinery had disappeared,” he joked.

The comedian said he screamed, prompting people nearby to believe something serious had happened.

He humorously claimed people rushed over thinking he was in danger, only to find him desperately trying to confirm that everything was still in place.

According to MC Jessy, the situation was eventually resolved after warming himself up, joking that hot water became the unlikely hero of the day before everything finally returned to normal several hours later.

He said it was only after returning to his hotel and taking a hot shower that he could finally laugh about the ordeal.

“Respect Scottish culture… but always carry emergency boxers,” he concluded.
