Maddox shares update on his rehabilitation journey, thanks Mosiria for the support
By Katemarthason Okudo, August 30, 2026Gengetone artiste Maddox has opened up about his rehabilitation journey, revealing that he is now in his first month of treatment after accepting help from Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria.
Speaking during an interview on Saturday, August 29, 2026, the former Boondocks Gang member said he initially had fears about entering rehabilitation but later realised that he was in a supportive environment.
Maddox said the decision to accept help and enter rehabilitation was one he now considers important in his recovery.
“I made a good decision to accept and go to rehab. Mosiria took me there, and I saw it was a good place. At first, I was afraid,” he said.
He explained that the rehabilitation centre has professionals who are helping him through the recovery process, including therapists, counsellors and doctors.
Maddox speaks on treatment
Maddox also shared some of the treatment he has undergone since being admitted to the facility. He said the process has included medical procedures aimed at helping his body recover as he works towards overcoming substance use.

“They removed some of my blood and put water, and they detoxified me. So, I started the cleaning process of the drugs being removed from my system,” he explained.
The artiste said he is currently in his first month of rehabilitation and is taking part in different activities as he focuses on his recovery. Apart from treatment, he said he spends his time meditating, reading books, watching films and writing music.
Planning new music
Maddox has also remained focused on his music while undergoing treatment.
The artiste said songwriting has given him something positive to work on during his stay at the rehabilitation centre. He hopes to have new songs ready by the time he leaves. “I want, when I get out of here, to have my songs ready so that I can serve my fans and supporters,” Maddox said.
His comments offer an update on his condition after Mosiria revealed earlier this month that he had intervened after finding the artiste living on the streets.

Mosiria steps in to help Maddox
On August 3, 2026, Mosiria revealed that he had rescued Maddox after finding him struggling on the streets. According to the county official, the artiste had been battling depression and drug addiction, which had affected his life and music career.
Mosiria said he learnt about Maddox’s situation after members of the public reached out to him. He later found the musician drinking on the streets and spoke to him before Maddox agreed to receive assistance.
He subsequently took him to Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction, where the artiste began his recovery journey.
Mosiria has since continued to share updates on Maddox’s progress, while expressing his willingness to support him throughout the recovery process. For Maddox, the focus now appears to be on completing his rehabilitation, rebuilding his life and returning to music with new material for his fans.
