Machabe apologises to Stevo Simple Boy, retracts claims he fathered his son
By Ascah Mwango, September 18, 2026Geoffrey Machabe, the former manager of Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy, has apologised to the artiste and his family after claiming that he was the biological father of Stevo’s son.
Machabe on Friday, September 18, 2026, retracted his earlier statements, saying the child, Dragon Junior, is not his.
The apology came two days after Machabe appeared on Oga Obinna’s Riba Show, where he claimed that he had a secret relationship with Stevo’s wife, Brenda, which allegedly resulted in her pregnancy.
During the interview, Machabe claimed to be the child’s biological father and called for a DNA test to establish paternity.
However, in a statement shared on social media on Friday, Machabe said he regretted making the claims and took responsibility for his remarks.
“I would like to sincerely apologize to Stevo Simple Boy, his wife Brenda, their family, and the entire Stevo Simple Boy fanbase for my recent statement claiming that the child is mine,” Machabe said.
“I want to make it clear that the child is not mine, and I deeply regret making such a statement. It was wrong, irresponsible, and I take full responsibility for my words,” he added.
Machabe attributed his remarks to what he described as a careless or “slippery tongue”, saying his comments had caused pain, confusion and unnecessary controversy.
“Sometimes a careless or ‘slippery tongue’ can cause pain, confusion, and unnecessary controversy,” he said.
He further asked Stevo, Brenda, their family and the musician’s fans to forgive him for the claims.
“I have reflected on what I said, and I understand the seriousness of it. I have nothing but respect for Stevo, Brenda, their family, and everyone who has supported them,” Machabe said.
Stevo rejects paternity claims
Machabe’s initial claims sparked an uproar online, with Stevo strongly rejecting the allegations and accusing his former manager of creating false narratives to gain attention.
The controversy also led to calls for a DNA test to settle the paternity question.
Content creator 2Mbili had offered to fund an official DNA test scheduled for Monday, September 21, while warning that legal action could follow over the allegations.
Machabe’s latest statement, however, withdraws his earlier claim and confirms that he is not the biological father of Stevo’s son.
He concluded his apology by again seeking forgiveness from the family.
“Once again, I am truly sorry, and I sincerely ask for your forgiveness,” he said.
