Lydia Wanjiru shares her opinion on viral claims that TikTok dancer Diaso is bleaching
By Katemarthason Okudo, July 29, 2026Digital creator Lydia Wanjiru has shared her thoughts on the online discussion surrounding TikTok dancer Diaso after recent videos of the choreographer sparked speculation among social media users about his appearance.
In a series of videos posted on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Lydia said she decided to speak about the topic after noticing that many people had been discussing Diaso’s recent videos.
Says she looked at old and new videos
Lydia explained that she first came across the conversation online before deciding to compare Diaso’s older content with his recent videos to understand why the topic had attracted so much attention.
She said she initially considered whether the change in appearance could have been caused by lighting or camera quality before forming her opinion.

“There is this thing I’ve seen online, and I just have to talk about it and share my opinion. If you are a fan of TikTok, you’ve probably seen the story about Diaso bleaching. I went and looked at his previous videos and compared them with his recent ones, especially those with his girlfriend, and I felt people could be right,” Lydia said.
She, however, made it clear that her remarks were based on her personal opinion and not on any confirmation from Diaso.
‘Everyone can do what they want’
Lydia added that even if Diaso had chosen to lighten his skin, she would not judge him because people have the freedom to make personal decisions about their bodies.
“And whether he’s bleaching knowingly or unknowingly, I’m not against it. Everyone can do whatever they want with their body,” Lydia said.

She also suggested that if it was happening unintentionally, there could be another explanation.
Raises concern over skincare products
According to Lydia, some men may unknowingly use skincare products designed for women without reading the instructions or understanding their ingredients.
She said this could sometimes result in unexpected skin changes. “If it’s happening unknowingly, which I highly suspect, it’s because men don’t usually read instructions or look at the products ladies use. You might find a man applying their woman’s lotion or sunscreen without knowing it’s a lightening product,” Lydia explained.
She noted that this was only her opinion and not a confirmed explanation for Diaso’s appearance.

Warns about possible health risks
While discussing the topic, Lydia also spoke about why she would never choose to bleach her own skin.
She said concerns about possible health risks have always discouraged her from trying skin-lightening products.
“I personally can’t bleach because it’s very risky. One of the side effects is cancer, and that’s why I’m concerned about people who may do it unknowingly, especially men,” Lydia said.
Diaso has not publicly responded to the claims or to Lydia’s comments. However, the discussion has continued online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the viral videos, while others have urged people not to make assumptions about someone’s appearance without confirmation.
