Lenzah Ademba mourns TikToker Derrick Omollo, calls for justice
By Katemarthason Okudo, September 2, 2026Kenyan TikToker Lenzah Ademba has mourned her close friend and fellow content creator Derrick Omollo, who died while trying to escape from suspected thugs in Juja.
Lenzah, who gained popularity for mimicking comedian DJ Shiti’s voice, shared an emotional video on her Instagram page on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as she remembered Omollo and called for action over his death.
Speaking about the loss, Lenzah urged people to make time for their friends instead of always assuming there will be another opportunity to meet.
“Man, if you get a chance to spend time with your friends, please do. Never postpone. Never postpone,” she said.
Omollo died while fleeing from attackers
Omollo, a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) TikToker, died after he and four other people were reportedly attacked by suspected thugs while out for a walk.
According to fellow TikToker Mildred, the group was forced to run after encountering the attackers. Omollo reportedly fled towards a quarry as he tried to escape but died after falling into it.

Mildred confirmed the death on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, saying she had spoken to different sources before sharing the information.
“To those who do not know what happened, after confirming from various sources, yes, it is true. They were attacked by thugs, and they tried escaping, and that is how he fled on the quarry side and died,” Mildred said.
She added that Omollo was with four other people when the incident happened, with all five trying to get away from the attackers.
Lenzah remembers close friend
As she mourned Omollo, Lenzah described him as a hardworking person who had been an important part of her life. She recalled their plans to begin a new video series together that week, saying Omollo had been ready to start the project but she had delayed the plans.
“My best friend was so hardworking. I feel like my life in the village was all rainbows and sunshine, to the point I would tell him, ‘When you reach Gachie, right? You knock happy,’” she said.

Lenzah also spoke about the friendship she shared with Omollo, describing him as more than just a fellow content creator. “I had a celebrity friend. Omollo, a celebrity,” she said.
Calls for justice
Lenzah questioned the security situation in Juja, saying reports of insecurity in the area have often been discussed on social media. She blamed the suspected attackers for the loss and called for justice for her friend.
“If you are a thief, you are an idiot. How could they be the reason my best friend died? Insecurity in Juja is crazy. It’s talked about on TikTok daily, and it’s still bad,” she said.
The TikToker ended her message by expressing her pain over the loss, saying she would miss Omollo. “There’s no justice for Omollo. Like… Oh God, I will miss Omollo, man,” Lenzah said.
Omollo’s death has left fellow content creators and friends mourning as questions remain over the circumstances surrounding the attack and whether those responsible will be held accountable.
