Karangu Muraya’s brother who sells chapati in Mwiki gifted land days after appeal for help
By Steve Ireri, August 22, 2026Facebook influencer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya’s brother Karuga appears to be the new owner of a parcel of land, if photos he shared after being handed a title deed are anything to go by.
Karuga, who has been trending after appealing to Kenyans to support his chapati business based in Mwiki, shared the photos on TikTok on Friday, August 21, 2026, as he thanked God and said his life was beginning to change step by step.
In one of the photos, Karuga is seen inside the offices of a popular real estate company, where he met one of its officials who handed him the title deed.
In other photos, he is seen posing alongside other company officials while holding the title deed, appearing to celebrate the moment.
The photos left his fans congratulating him, with some encouraging him to keep pushing as they said his determination was slowly being noticed and rewarded.
“Semeni wabarikiwe sana,” he wrote while tagging the real estate company.

TikToker’s support
The encouraging development comes only weeks after Kenyan TikTokers rallied behind Karuga, donating thousands of shillings to support him and his chapati business based in Mwiki.
One of the TikTokers who led the fundraising drive urged Karuga to embrace the support, telling him that the contributions were meant not only to provide financial assistance but also to remind him that he had people willing to stand by him.
“And do not hate yourself. I am not a preacher, but my heart loves, and I want to give you a good donation so I can wipe your tears,” the TikToker told him.
He further said the group had come together to show Karuga that he was loved and that he was not alone in his struggles.
“We came to send you the message that we love you,” he said.
The TikToker also promised to visit Karuga in person so that they could have a conversation away from the online fundraiser.
“And I will also visit you soon so we can talk,” he said.
Before their planned meeting, however, he sent Karuga his contribution and asked him to confirm that the money had reached his M-Pesa account.
“Let me send you the money first before we start talking,” he said.
He then encouraged Karuga to view the support as the beginning of a new chapter, telling him that his circumstances could change if he remained determined.
“Truly, your time has come,” the TikToker said.
After sending the money, he asked Karuga to check his M-Pesa and confirm the transaction, noting that the name displayed on the message matched his.
“I have sent you the money, so check your M-Pesa. The name it showed is Samuel Muraya, which is yours,” he said.
