IRL streamer IShowSpeed has expressed his desire to attend Cristiano Ronaldo’s wedding as excitement continues to build around the football superstar’s highly anticipated ceremony.

In a livestream on Sunday, August 2, 2026, the American streamer appeared to wonder whether he had been invited to the wedding before suggesting that he should contact Ronaldo directly to confirm his invitation.

IShowSpeed, born Darren Jason Watkins Jr, is one of the most prominent online personalities associated with Ronaldo and has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the Portuguese football legend.

“Am I invited to Ronaldo’s wedding? Chat, tell me now. Should I call Ronaldo and ask him? Hey, should we ask him? I suggest I call him and ask. Let’s ask Ronaldo right now,” Speed said.

The streamer then claimed that Ronaldo had told him he was invited, prompting him to tell his viewers that he would attend the wedding.

“He said that I am invited. We are going to the wedding, chat. Let me also call him and know. Everything is okay, so chat, relax,” he added.

Speed also addressed viewers who appeared to question whether he had actually spoken to Ronaldo or had instead interacted with an AI-generated version of the footballer.

“Sometimes in life, everything is not AI. All this world is not AI. Alright, relax. Damn, stop saying I talked to AI and not the real Ronaldo,” he said.

Despite the discussion surrounding his invitation, Speed made it clear that he was eager to attend the ceremony.

“But I want to attend,” he added.

Ronaldo and Georgina’s wedding plans

Speed’s comments come as attention continues to grow around Ronaldo’s upcoming wedding to his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez.

The couple, who have been together since 2016, announced their engagement in August 2025 after nearly a decade together.

A report by the Daily Mail revealed that the wedding ceremony is on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Madeira, the Portuguese island where Ronaldo was born and raised.

It is expected to take place at Funchal Cathedral, a historic church located in Ronaldo’s hometown. The reception is expected to follow at the nearby five-star Savoy Palace Hotel.

The choice of Madeira would give the ceremony a deeply personal significance for Ronaldo, taking the celebration back to the island where his journey began.

The couple’s wedding has attracted considerable global attention, partly because of their international fame and the footballer’s enormous worldwide following.

Star-studded guest list

Interest in the ceremony has also been fuelled by reports about the high-profile personalities who could attend.

The names linked to the event include some of football’s biggest stars, sporting legends, entertainment figures and internet personalities.

Among the footballers whose names have circulated are Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Neymar, while Lionel Messi’s potential presence has also generated considerable discussion.

The list also includes sporting icons such as Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, David Beckham, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
