Ronoh said the content became linked to years of bullying and abuse, which she said she is still recovering from. She also said she continues to face victim-blaming even as she deals with what happened.
Ronoh made the remarks while responding to questions about why she no longer makes funny videos. She explained that she does not want to be defined by the type of content that first made her known.
“Not here to make you happy or laugh,” Chebet Ronoh said on Friday, August 21, 2026.
The content creator explained that making funny videos came with painful experiences that affected her for years. She said the content made her a target for bullying and abuse, something she is still recovering from. Ronoh added that she has struggled to find peace because of the blame directed at her.
Ronoh moves on from comedy videos
Ronoh said the experience has changed how she views her past work and the different versions of herself. She explained that she believes every version of her should be accepted and appreciated. Her remarks also showed that she does not want to be pressured into returning to the content that made her famous.
“Why don’t you make funny videos anymore?” Oh, you mean the thing that caused me to be a target for bullying and abuse for years, which I’m still recovering from, and even in that I can’t have peace without being victim-blamed,” Chebet Ronoh said.
Ronoh further said that she wants people to appreciate her beyond the funny videos she used to make. She explained that her past content is only one part of her journey and that she has since changed her focus. She also stressed that all versions of her deserve love and appreciation.
“All versions of me are to be loved and appreciated,” Chebet Ronoh said.
Ronoh has since evolved and is now focused on other areas of her life. She is into the gym and fitness and has been focused on looking her healthiest. She has also quit alcohol and is on a sobriety journey as she continues to make changes in her life.
Funny videos played a major role in making Ronoh famous on social media. However, her latest remarks suggest that returning to that type of content is not her focus at the moment, although her plans remain unclear. She is now focused on other interests, including her skin care business.
