Hanna Benta reveals what went wrong after attending TikToker Kawira’s birthday party
By Steve Ireri, June 21, 2026TikToker Hanna Benta has shared what she feels could have been done to improve the star-studded birthday party of fellow TikToker Anne Kawira, which was held on the night of Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Speaking in a TikTok video on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Hanna said one of the biggest issues at the event was the entertainment, claiming the DJ failed to create the atmosphere expected at such a celebration.
According to Hanna, the DJ appeared to be someone close to Kawira, and she even suspected he could have been her brother due to their similar accent.
“The DJ at the party, I think it was Kawira’s own brother, because he had an accent like hers,” Hanna said.
She went on to criticise the programme of events, saying too much time was spent introducing guests instead of allowing attendees to enjoy themselves.
Hanna argued that the constant introductions disrupted the flow of the party and took away valuable time that could have been used for entertainment.
“Another issue was that every few minutes they would take time to introduce someone and a lot of time was wasted,” she said.

The TikToker further explained that she expected a birthday celebration of that magnitude to begin with a grand entrance for the birthday girl, complete with music, dancing and fanfare.
According to her, Kawira should have been ushered in with songs and dances before guests settled down to enjoy the rest of the event.
“You know a birthday should start with you all ushering in the birthday girl with songs and dances and after that, when she sits, you dance a bit more and then after that you eat,” Hanna said.
She expressed disappointment that Kawira did not get what she described as a proper birthday entrance.
“But imagine at the party, Kawira did not even walk the aisle with a song. It was just us cheering,” she added.
Hanna maintained that the entertainment segment failed to live up to expectations, bluntly describing the DJ’s performance as boring.
“That DJ really was boring,” she said.
She also questioned how quickly guests were directed to the food section, saying there was barely enough time for people to enjoy the party before being asked to eat.
“After that, even before two minutes were done, we were told to eat,” she said.
Hanna further revealed that, unlike traditional birthday celebrations where guests arrive carrying gifts, many attendees chose to send money electronically through M-Pesa.
She noted that physical presents were largely absent during the event.
“People did not come with physical gifts. There was M-Pesa, and that’s what people were using to send her,” she said.
The content creator also claimed she noticed some guests who did not contribute anything towards the birthday celebrations despite attending.
“And others I saw did not contribute anything. And others ate a lot of food,” she joked.
