Kenyan TikToker Hanna Benta has opened up about her experience at Hong Kong immigration, revealing the series of questions she was asked by border officials before being allowed into the Asian city.

Speaking during a TikTok Live with Rachael Otuoma on Friday, July 10, 2026, Hanna said immigration officers subjected her to extensive questioning upon arrival, describing Hong Kong as one of the strictest destinations she has ever visited.

According to the content creator, the questioning became so detailed that she began worrying about whether she would be allowed to enter the country.

“But let me tell you guys, now I am in Hong Kong, but let me alert you that when you come here, they ask you so many questions. For example, they asked me so many questions until I got worried,” she said.

Hanna explained that one of the first questions immigration officials asked was why she had specifically chosen Hong Kong as her travel destination instead of visiting another country.

“They asked why I had chosen Hong Kong out of all the places,” she revealed.

She added that the officers also wanted to know why she had not opted to visit other destinations instead.

“They asked why I didn’t visit other places,” she said.

The TikToker described Hong Kong’s immigration procedures as strict, saying travellers should be prepared to answer numerous questions before being cleared for entry.

“It’s a very strict country,” she remarked.

According to Hanna, immigration officers also sought to establish whether she had sufficient financial resources to support herself during her stay.

She disclosed that officials asked about the amount of money she had in her bank account before proceeding to enquire about the cash she was carrying.

“They also ask you how much you have in your bank. They also ask you how much cash you have,” she stated.

The content creator further revealed that she was asked who she had travelled with, whether she possessed a return ticket and if she had family.

“They also ask who you came with, whether you have a return ticket and if you have a family. Those are the questions they asked me,” Hanna explained.
