Gloria Moraa says time has not healed the pain of losing her daughter
By Valerian Khakayi, July 28, 2026Two years after the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, actress Gloria Moraa has shared an emotional message revealing that the pain of grief remains as intense as ever.
Taking to social media on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the grieving mother reflected on the second anniversary of her daughter Marie Blac Achieng’s death, saying the passage of time has done little to ease the anguish she carries every day.
“Two years down, forever to go…feels like two days; the pain is the same exact. They lied by saying it gets better with time. I am always crushed to the core…keep resting, my child; it can never be well,” Moraa wrote.

The emotional post struck a chord with many of her followers, who flooded the comments section with messages of comfort, prayers, and encouragement as the actress continues to navigate life without her firstborn.
Moraa on Marie’s death
Moraa has been open about her grief since Marie’s untimely death in July 2024. Over the past two years, she has consistently used social media to honour her daughter’s memory, admitting that the loss has permanently changed her life.
Earlier this year, on what would have been Marie’s 21st birthday, the actress penned another heartbreaking tribute, saying she cries every day and that her life “took a 360” the moment her daughter died.
“Happy 21st birthday in heaven, my child. It pains me every day, and I shed tears every single day. My life took a 360 when you breathed your last. I lost my shine, my light completely,” she wrote at the time.

She also questioned whether she would ever experience genuine happiness again or enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep, underscoring the lasting emotional toll of losing a child.
During Marie’s memorial service in August 2024, Moraa tearfully recalled the special bond they shared, saying she still struggled to accept her daughter’s death.
“I don’t know how to release my child. My heart is broken. We had very, very beautiful memories,” she said.
The actress also remembered how Marie would comfort her during difficult moments, describing her as a kind and supportive daughter who always knew how to lift her spirits.
Marie, who was pursuing her university studies at the time of her death, was laid to rest on August 10, 2024, in Kisumu County.
