‘Game ni 90′ – Jalang’o reacts after Ruto Kisumu rally draws sea of people
By Valerian Khakayi, September 14, 2026Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang’o, has reacted to the reception President William Ruto received in Kisumu during his ongoing four-day tour of the Nyanza region.
Jalang’o appeared to acknowledge the large crowds witnessed during Ruto’s engagements in Kisumu, signalling that the political contest in the region could be entering an interesting phase.
“Day 2 Nyanza Tour. Kisumu County! Kesho Tunaingia Siaya Kababa!! Game ni 90 na hakuna kutoroka!!” Jalang’o posted on social media on Monday evening, September 14, 2026.
The MP’s remarks came as Ruto wrapped up his second day in Nyanza, with his Kisumu visit combining development activities and political engagements.
Ruto’s Kisumu tour
During his tour of Kisumu County, Ruto focused on infrastructure development, with several major projects highlighted as part of efforts to improve services and connectivity.
“The President’s tour of duty in Kisumu County continued today with a focus on infrastructure transformation. Infrastructure development is the foundational backbone for the socio-economic uplifting of the common mwananchi,” Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o said.
Nyong’o disclosed that the President commissioned the Ksh8.4 billion Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Project in Nyamasaria.
The project is expected to connect an additional 53,000 households to reliable water and 23,000 households to sewerage services, while reducing water losses by 27 per cent.
Ruto also inspected the Chemelil-Muhoroni Junction Road, which is part of the Ksh15.7 billion Kisumu-Chemelil-Muhoroni-Kipsitet road upgrade.
He further flagged off the Ksh962 million, 12-kilometre Rabuor-Chiga Road, which is expected to provide an alternative link between Kondele, Kibos and the Kisumu-Ahero Road at Rabuor Market.
According to Nyong’o, the national government has allocated Ksh23 billion for eight new roads covering 270 kilometres in Kisumu, with the projects expected to improve connectivity and support trade.
Other projects highlighted during the visit included the commissioning of a new Air Traffic Control Tower at Kisumu International Airport and the Kisumu West Sub-County Police Headquarters in Otonglo.

Ruto’s visit to Kisumu comes amid shifting political alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The President’s growing engagements in Nyanza have attracted attention as his administration seeks to strengthen its relationship with the region, which has traditionally been viewed as an opposition stronghold.
Raila Odinga Junior also joined Ruto at his Kisumu rally, further drawing attention to the emerging political realignments in the region.
With Ruto now set to head to Siaya on Tuesday, Jalang’o’s “Game ni 90” remark has added a political layer to the President’s continued tour of Nyanza.
