Forex inawork: Butita reacts to Kenyan Prince’s chopper ride and Range Rover gift

By , July 17, 2026

The jaw-dropping “apology event” staged by controversial online forex trader Raymond Omosa, popularly known as Kenyan Prince, has caught the attention of Kenya’s entertainment elite.

After the trader hired a helicopter to fly his girlfriend, Stephanie ‘Stephy’ Ngunjiri, out to present her with a brand-new luxury Range Rover following a brief cheating scandal, critics and fans alike were left stunned.

Among those reacting to the multi-million shilling display of opulence is top comedian, scriptwriter, and digital mogul Eddie Butita.

Speaking in a candid video uploaded to his Instagram account on Friday evening, July 17, 2026, Butita admitted that the sheer longevity and scale of the wealth displayed by local online currency traders is making it incredibly difficult to remain a sceptic.

For years, mainstream observers and financial sceptics have viewed the flashy lifestyles of young Kenyan forex traders with extreme suspicion.

Butita openly admitted that he, alongside a large section of the public, has historically dismissed these lavish displays as elaborate smoke and mirrors.

However, seeing Kenyan Prince descend from a chopper to hand over a luxury SUV just days after another trader purchased a high-end house has pushed the comedian to call for a truce on the scepticism.

Hawa watu wa Forex, nimeona Kenyan Prince amefanya event inaitwa Apology Event anashuka na ndege anapea dem yake gari. Sijui jana kuna mtu wa forex alinunua nyumba nini,” Butita noted in his video.

Ok, it has been like four years sahi tukisemanga hawa watu wa forex ni wakora, kuna kitu wanafanya. Apart from hio kitu tunawaekeleanga, ama enyewe kiukweli tukiacha macho ya wivu forex inawork?”

Can’t fake it for 4 years

The core of Butita’s argument centers on the sheer timeline of these online personalities.

While financial scams and fraudulent schemes typically collapse within a few months under economic pressure, Kenya’s prominent forex figures have maintained their ultra-luxurious lifestyles openly since the early 2020s.

The comedian argued that it is structurally impossible to sustain such a massive front without some genuine financial engine backing it up.

“Tukiangalia tu bila macho ya wivu vizuri, hii forex inaweza kua inawork hapa because sasa it’s high time tuelewane ju hakuna vile munawezakua munafake for four years bana. Four years!” Butita exclaimed.

Concluding his viral clip, the creative entrepreneur extended a direct challenge to Kenyan Prince and the wider online trading community.

If the financial markets are genuinely capable of funding helicopter arrivals and luxury vehicle apologies, Butita believes it is time for these young millionaires to share the blueprint with struggling youths.

“Kama unajua forex ya ukweli inawork, chanua wasee bana,” he urged, demanding that successful traders open up transparent avenues to teach ordinary citizens how to navigate the markets legitimately.

Whether Kenyan Prince answers the call to educate his followers remains to be seen, but for now, his extravagant romantic rescue has successfully forced one of Kenya’s biggest commentators to admit that maybe, just maybe, the forex market is actually paying off.
