Musila went on to express gratitude for the opportunities and experiences she has had over the past two and a half decades.

Musila’s Career at the United Nations
Away from the limelight, Musila has built a distinguished career with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), where she has spent the past 25 years working in programme management.
According to previous interviews, she supports projects under the Urban Basic Services Section, helping oversee water and sanitation programmes in countries including Nepal and Laos.
Her responsibilities include monitoring project implementation, tracking budgets, preparing financial reports, coordinating donor reporting and ensuring projects meet their deadlines and objectives.
Before joining the United Nations in 2001, Esther worked in Kenya’s corporate sector. She began her career at MEA Limited before moving to Siginon Freight as a personal assistant to the chairman and managing director.

She later joined Kenya Commercial Bank, where she worked in the Advances Department before taking a break to raise her children. She eventually secured a three-month maternity replacement contract at UN-Habitat, an opportunity that grew into a career spanning 25 years.
While many Kenyans know her as Guardian Angel’s wife and for her active presence on social media, Musila has consistently maintained that her greatest achievement is making a meaningful contribution through her work as an international civil servant.
Her latest milestone not only celebrates 25 years of professional service but also highlights a career dedicated to supporting humanitarian and sustainable development programmes around the world.
