Dem wa Facebook hints at vying for political seat in 2027

Digital influencer and comedian Miliscent Ayuwa, widely known as Dem wa Facebook, has sparked speculation after hinting that she could be eyeing a political seat in the 2027 general election.
The comedian, who has built a strong following on social media through her humorous skits and outspoken personality, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, shared a campaign-style poster on her social media pages, leaving fans wondering whether she was serious about joining politics or simply entertaining her audience.
In the poster, Dem wa Facebook is identified by her full name, Millicent Ayuwa Obayi, alongside the title Women Representative 2027. It also outlines what appears to be a political manifesto centred on transparency and accountability, youth empowerment, women’s economic empowerment, and representation and voice in leadership.
Accompanying the poster was a playful caption that asked the county she should vie for.
“Mlisema mtanipea kura ama nilee watoto kwanza??? Nisimame county gani???” Dem wa Facebook wrote.
“MILISCENT AYUWA OBAYI. 2027 WOMEN REPRESENTATIVE MANIFESTO: Transparency & Accountability, Youth Empowerment, Women Economic Empowerment, Representation & Voice in Leadership,” her poster reads.

Given Dem wa Facebook’s reputation as a comedian, it remains unclear whether the post signals genuine political ambitions or is simply content created to entertain her fans. She has not publicly confirmed whether she intends to vie for any elective position in the upcoming elections.
However, if the entertainer were serious about entering politics, she would join a growing list of celebrities who have openly expressed interest in seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Celebrities turning politicians
Over the years, several Kenyan entertainers, musicians, actors and media personalities have transitioned into politics, with some winning elective seats while others have unsuccessfully tested the waters.
As the country slowly begins gearing up for the 2027 polls, more public figures have also started dropping hints about possible political ambitions, using their social media platforms to gauge public opinion and engage supporters.
Dem wa Facebook’s latest post has therefore added her name to the growing conversation surrounding celebrities and politics, even though it is yet to be established whether her announcement was made in jest or with genuine political intentions.
