Bobi Wine visits Dolly Parton mural, lays flowers in Nashville

Bobi Wine took time to visit a mural dedicated to the legendary singer, where he laid flowers in her memory following her death on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
In a video shared from the visit, Bobi Wine is seen approaching the mural before placing flowers at its base.
He then steps back, bows towards the mural and remains there for a moment as a sign of respect for the late country music star.
Parton burial
The gesture comes days after Parton was laid to rest in a private funeral attended by her family and close friends.
Parton was buried on Friday, August 28, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, where she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Carl Dean.
The private farewell was held in keeping with the singer’s wishes for an intimate ceremony following her death.
Parton’s passing was announced on August 25 by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who said the singer died peacefully at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre in Nashville following a brief battle with cancer. She was 80.
Parton’s legacy
Before her death, Parton had enjoyed a career spanning several decades, establishing herself as one of the most recognisable figures in country music. She was known not only for her music but also for her work in film, television, business and philanthropy.
The singer’s influence extended beyond the United States, with her music earning her a global following and inspiring artists across different generations and countries.
Her funeral also reflected her strong connection to music and family. Parton had previously expressed a wish for the country-gospel hymn If We Never Meet Again to be associated with her funeral. The song was particularly significant to her family, as it had been her father’s favourite and was also performed at his funeral in 2000.
Bobi Wine’s visit to the mural offered another public moment of remembrance for the late singer, with the Ugandan musician choosing a quiet gesture of flowers and a bow to honour Parton’s legacy.
His tribute came as fans and fellow musicians continued to mourn the loss of one of country music’s most influential and celebrated figures.
