Bishop Maina Wa OTC warns Isaac Mwaura of another govt exit after losing spokesperson role
By Steve Ireri, July 23, 2026Born Again Evangelism Church preacher Bishop Maina Wa OTC has warned former Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura of another exit from government following his reassignment to a new position.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, July 23, 2026, just a day after President William Ruto reassigned him from the Government Spokesperson position, the preacher recalled previous conversations he claimed to have had with Mwaura, saying he had warned him about losing his government position.
“Hon Isaac Mwaura, pole sana kwa vile kulienda jana,” Maina Wa OTC wrote.
The preacher claimed that he had previously visited Mwaura at his office at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) as well as at his home, where the two discussed his political position and his relationship with President Ruto.
According to Maina Wa OTC, Mwaura had told him that he strongly supported the President, but the preacher claimed he responded by warning him that Ruto did not have the same level of affection for him.
“Nilikutembelea kwa office yako KICC pia nyumbani ukaniambia unampenda Ruto sana nikakwambia hakupendi hata kidogo,” he wrote.
Maina Wa OTC went on to claim that he had already warned Mwaura that his time in the position he held at the time would come to an end.
The preacher further claimed that he had told Mwaura he would be removed from the position before former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was forced out of office.
“Nilikuwa nimekupea ujumbe unapangiwa kuondolewa kwa kiti before Rigathi atimuliwe,” he wrote.
Maina Wa OTC also claimed that he repeated the warning when he met Mwaura again this year, telling him that even if he was given another government position, he would eventually be removed.
“Pia hii mwaka tulikutana nikakurudia tena, ata hio kiti umepewa utafukuzwa,” he said.
The preacher then urged Mwaura to return to his community, suggesting that the former Government Spokesperson should reconsider his position within the administration.
“Rudi kwa watu wenyu plz na utakuja kuniambia,” Maina Wa OTC wrote.
His message came after Mwaura was reassigned from his position as Government Spokesperson in a government reorganisation announced on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Mwaura has since been appointed Head of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights within the Executive Office of the President.
In his new role, Mwaura is expected to lead government programmes and initiatives focused on marginalised communities and people living with disabilities.
The changes also saw former police spokesperson Charles Owino take over as the new Government Spokesperson, with the reorganisation receiving approval from the Public Service Commission.
