Bishop Kiengei says prayers answered as Kaluma Boys’ father shows major recovery progress

By , June 11, 2026

JCM church founder Bishop Ben Kiengei has shared an uplifting update on the recovery of Kaluma Boys’ father, noting significant progress in his healing journey after a long period of illness.

In a Facebook message on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the preacher expressed gratitude to supporters who have been praying for the patient, saying their prayers have been answered. He noted that the recovery process has reached a major milestone, with key medical interventions already completed.

According to Kiengei, the tubes that had been connected to the patient, for feeding and medical care during his critical condition, have now been removed, signalling a strong improvement in his health.

“Mipira imetolewa, anatembea na anakula vizuri imebaki kidogo tu hii walker stick aiweke chini……. ukimjua unasema Asante Mungu,” he wrote.

The JCM founder further revealed that Kaluma Boys’ father is now walking with assistance and using a walking stick, but he expressed optimism that this may soon no longer be necessary as recovery continues.

He described the progress as remarkable, especially considering that the patient was previously bedridden and fully dependent on others for movement and basic care. At the height of his illness, he could not lift himself without assistance.

As such, the preacher said that everyone should be blessed and that all those who have been praying for Kaluma Boys’ father’s recovery have had their prayers answered by God.

Amesema kila mtu abarikiwe na wote wanaomuombea kupona maombi yamejibiwa na Mungu, Mipira imetolewa,” he added.

Stroke

The emotional update comes months after Kaluma Boy publicly documented his father’s painful battle with illness after suffering a stroke in August 2024.

At one point, his father was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital where he spent three months in the ICU before later remaining in hospital wards for additional months as doctors monitored his recovery.

The family’s story touched many Kenyans after Kaluma Boy consistently shared emotional TikTok videos showing himself caring for his bedridden father while also working in tea farms to help raise money for medical expenses.

His authenticity and dedication sparked nationwide support from TikTokers, church members, celebrities and well-wishers who contributed towards treatment and family support.

The family later held a Thanksgiving ceremony at Jesus Compassion Ministry led by Ben Kiengei, where prayers and fundraising efforts were conducted to support the father’s treatment and recovery journey.

At the time, Kaluma Boy’s father could barely move on his own and remained dependent on medical assistance and family support.
