Betty Kyallo questions why men struggle with flu after lover Charlie falls sick
By Valerian Khakayi, July 3, 2026Media personality Betty Kyallo has left fans amused after jokingly questioning why men appear to struggle more with the flu than women during a light-hearted exchange with her boyfriend, Charlie Jones, who revealed he was unwell.
In a video shared on social media on Friday, July 3, 2026, Charlie said he was so sick that he was forced to remain in the car.
“I am very sick and bedridden in the car,” Charlie said.
Betty, however, could not hide her amusement as she questioned what she described as men’s reaction to catching the flu.
“I do not know what it is with men and homa, because honestly, Charlie ako na homa, and it is like the whole world is coming to an end,” Betty questioned.
She went on to compare Charlie’s condition with what many women endure, arguing that women often continue with their daily responsibilities even after giving birth.
“Dude, like, do you know we [women] give birth?” she said.
Charlie’s explanation on man’s flu
Charlie, however, maintained that the flu affects men differently and jokingly compared his condition to childbirth.
“Now this is equivalent to that,” he responded.
Betty was quick to dismiss the comparison.
“You are comparing my C-section or any woman’s birth to the home of a man?” she asked.
Despite Betty’s disbelief, Charlie insisted he was genuinely feeling terrible.
“It is actually that bad,” he added.
Charlie went on to argue that while men may appear resilient in other situations, the flu affects them differently.
“How we handle it is different from how you handle it. I can have a broken leg and still be okay as a man, but with the flu, I am bedridden in a car,” he pointed out.
However,Betty was unconvinced, saying women often push through physically demanding situations while still taking care of their families.
“We women will give birth and go farm, breastfeed, and cook for our husbands, then you guys homa kidogo tu,” Betty added.
Charlie further defended what is commonly referred to as “man flu,” insisting that people should not underestimate how seriously some men experience the illness.
“Until you realise how a man’s immune system works, do not talk, it is messing up my mind; this thing is not normal. I am feeling really bad,” Charlie stated.
