Amber Ray reveals why she wanted to be financially stable before welcoming her daughter

Amber Ray shared the reflection on social media on Saturday, September 5, 2026, explaining that her decision came from the challenges she had experienced when raising her son.
She recalled making a prayer when her son was still young, asking God to allow her to have another child only when she was in a better financial position.
“I remember when I had my son, I made one prayer to God: ‘If I ever have another child, please let it be when I’m financially stable,’” she wrote.
A prayer made during a difficult season
Amber Ray explained that her prayer was influenced by the kind of life she and her son had experienced at the time.
She said there were seasons she did not want another child to go through, making financial stability an important part of what she hoped for before becoming a mother again.
As the years passed, her son grew older, and her circumstances changed. She also became focused on other areas of her life and career, eventually forgetting about the prayer she had made.
However, she believes the prayer had not been forgotten. “When He decided to bless me with my daughter, He made sure I had everything I had once prayed for. I was stable. I was capable,” she said.
Welcoming her daughter at the peak of her career
Amber Ray said her daughter arrived at a time when her career was doing well, allowing her to approach motherhood from a different position. She had also been concerned about whether pregnancy would affect the work and lifestyle she had built over the years.
The influencer recalled asking God not to allow the pregnancy to slow down her career, especially because she was still working towards her professional goals.
According to Amber Ray, she continued working, travelling and attending to her commitments throughout the pregnancy.
‘She came to make it sweeter’
Amber Ray said motherhood the second time did not make her abandon the life she had built. Instead, she described her daughter as fitting into her existing routine while allowing her to continue working, travelling and enjoying other parts of her life.
She said the experience has made her see the difference between becoming a mother during a difficult financial period and doing so after achieving greater stability. “She never came to interrupt my life… she came to make it sweeter,” she wrote.
Amber Ray now describes her daughter as her “little bestie” and companion, saying their time together has given her another way to experience life.
Looking back at the prayer
Reflecting on her journey, Amber Ray said her daughter’s arrival has led her to revisit the prayer she made years ago. She believes the circumstances surrounding her second experience of motherhood came at a time when she was ready for them.
“Sometimes God answers prayers so many years later that we don’t even recognise them as answered prayers. I had forgotten what I asked Him for. But He remembered,” she wrote.
For Amber Ray, her daughter has therefore become a reminder of a prayer made during a difficult season and the importance she placed on being ready before welcoming another child.
