R&B singer Bridget Blue has opened up about the unexpected story behind her hit collaboration “I Choose You,” revealing that the song was created from scratch in under two hours.

Speaking in an interview on Sunday, April 19, 2026 Bridgit described the process as completely unplanned, sparked by a simple message from Bien.

According to her, the collaboration started with a casual check-in that quickly turned into a studio session.

“It was very random. It was just like, ‘Hey, how are you? We should work on something,” she said.

With no schedule or pressure, the two agreed to meet and see what would come out of it. Bridget recalled inviting him over for a relaxed session, with no expectations attached.

Song built fast

Once in the studio, the energy clicked almost immediately. According to Bridget Blue, the pair began vibing over instrumentals, exchanging ideas and building the track in real time.

“Everything came together the same day… in a few hours. I don’t think it was more than two hours,” she explained.

She added that the song’s melodies, harmonies, and lyrics were all created on the spot, with both artistes contributing organically as the session unfolded.

Doubts after session

Despite how quickly the track came together, Bridget admitted she struggled with doubt once the session ended.

“I was so frightened… I was worried it could have been more,” she said, noting that she was used to spending days refining her music.

She said she even questioned whether she had done her best, linking the feeling to her belief that good songs usually take time to perfect.

The uncertainty, however, did not last forever. Once the song was released, Bridget said her perspective shifted as she began to experience it the same way listeners did.

“I Choose You” has since grown into one of her most commercially successful songs, helping push her further into the mainstream.

Still, she pointed out that her earlier track “Kesho” remains a strong contender in her catalogue, especially considering it was released earlier and built momentum over time.
