Brenda Michelle announces she is engaged one year after failed marriage

The reveal has caught many by surprise, especially considering where she was just a year ago. Back then, she openly spoke about the struggles in her marriage to her gospel producer husband Jacky B, admitting that things had fallen apart.
Failed marriage
In April 2025, Michelle, who rose to fame for her role as Alma in the local TV drama Zora, chose to finally address the rumours that had been circulating about her marriage. For months, fans had been speculating after noticing changes in her online presence, and her silence only added to the curiosity.

Michelle acknowledged the growing public interest in her personal life. She made it clear that she was aware of the questions and conversations happening online, especially about her relationship.
“My marriage has been over for some time now, and while it has taken a while to publicly acknowledge this, I believe now is the right moment to do so.”
