Bahati offers to fly woman claiming to be his mum for another DNA test in South Africa
By Charles Ouma, March 10, 2026Kenyan singer Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has shared the reaction after the woman who claimed to be her mother broke down after receiving DNA test results confirming that she is not the singer’s biological mother.
The emotional meltdown was captured in a video which the singer shared online while also giving his take on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
In the video, the woman can be seen breaking down as she alleges that something she does not understand was going on.
Efforts by the singer to comfort her bore no fruit as she stormed out before Bahati later convinced her to take her seat.
Suspicion of foul play
The woman repeatedly alleged foul play, expressing her belief that money may have been a factor.
“Hii kitu imechezwa (this thing has been altered)” the woman repeatedly stated amid sobs as she relayed her firm belief that the test had been manipulated.
“Tumieni tu pesa…Kuna kitu iliniambia kuna kitu inaendelea,” the woman said amid sobs, expressing her belief that underhand tactics may have been employed to achieve the outcome.
The singer acknowledged the emotional turmoil that she was going through and sought divine intervention, writing:
“God is our Comforter, May He stand with our mum, give her peace of mind, and settle all her grievances. Mungu ingilia kati. 🙏” Bahati stated.
Offers to take her to South Africa
Bahati shared his options, noting that if the woman in question believes the results are fake, she would take another test, including flying her to South Africa for another round of DNA tests.
“Tufuatilie hii ya kurudi kwingine twende hata ukitaka mimi nikupeleka huko South Africa tukajaribie South Africa ama wapi ama hospitali yenye unataka (We can follow up elsewhere, and if you want, I can take you to South Africa or any other hospital of your choice),” he said while assuring the woman that the facility where the test was done is reputable.
He also volunteered to help the woman trace where she claims to have surrendered her child in a bid to know the truth.
She eventually accepted her fate, stating that she leaves her hopes in God, who has the final say, leaving no doubt that she had reservations about the results presented.
Bahati accepts outcome of DNA test
Bahati made peace with the outcome after DNA tests taken at a local facility settled the matter.
Medical doctor David Mwithiga, who conducted the DNA analysis, confirmed that the woman is not biologically related to Bahati.
“After reviewing all parameters, the DNA clearly shows there is no match, indicating that Judith Makokha is his biological mother,” Mwithiga explained, putting the matter to rest.
The test marked the end of a chapter for Bahati, who has been accused by some of staging the saga to chase clout.
Renowned producer Wuod Fibi is among those who stated that the singer was simply chasing clout with the issue, predicting that the outcome of the DNA test would show no relationship between Bahati and the woman.
