Bahati elated as Morgan is promoted to prefect just days after joining Lenana School
By Steve Ireri, February 6, 2026Musician Kelvin Bahati has expressed pure joy after his son, Morgan, was promoted to a key student leadership position at Lenana School, just days after joining the prestigious national school.
In an update shared on Instagram on Friday, February 6, 2026, Bahati revealed that he had visited Morgan at school during a Head of Grade Meeting (HGM), when he surprised him with the exciting news.
“Guys, I am here with Morgan. Yes, today I came to visit him at school, and it’s an HGM meeting. And Morgan has a surprise for me,” Bahati said in the clip.
Morgan revealed to his father that he had been appointed as the form one representative, putting him in charge of all Grade 10 students, with prefects now taking orders from him.
“I was promoted to form one representative. So I am in charge of all Grade 10s here in Lenana School, and all prefects are now taking orders from him,” Morgan said.
Bahati shared that he was overwhelmed with pride, noting that he never had the opportunity to attend a national school like Lenana himself.
He celebrated his son’s achievement, highlighting the fast rise to leadership in such a short period since joining.
“Congratulations to you! You know, people like me never went to a national school like you have. I am happy that my son, just a few days after joining, has been appointed prefect and form rep,” Bahati shared.
Diana’s reaction to Morgan’s admission
Previously, K24 Digital reported that Bahati’s wife, Diana Marua, reacted emotionally after Morgan finally reported to Lenana School, where he had secured a slot after performing exemplarily in his KJSEA exams.
In a video shared by Bahati on Instagram on Saturday, January 17, 2026, Diana was seen making all the needed preparations, including securing shopping items, as they prepared to take Morgan to the prestigious national school.
In the clip, Morgan also expressed excitement about joining a national school.
He boarded Diana’s pink Brabus, which had been waiting to take him to school, as Bahati and Diana also took seats inside the car.
After arriving at the school, Diana reflected on the entire development, saying she had been preparing for the day so much that it felt as if she were the one reporting to school.
“So we are here finally at Lenana School, and you would think that I am the one who is coming to school,” she said.
After securing Morgan’s admission, she took time to congratulate him for having secured a slot in the prestigious school.
She noted that the hard work he had put in while at ACK Wote Boarding School, where they had taken him for his primary education, had truly paid off.
She expressed pride in him and prayed to God that Lenana School would also be good to him as he begins the next chapter of his academic journey.
“But, haha, he was in ACK Wote for his primary, and his performance is what has brought him to this prestigious school, and I am so, so proud, and you look sharp, my boy,” she said.
