Andrew Kibe explains why his marriage failed

By , December 7, 2025

Media personality and author Andrew Kibe has opened up about the reasons behind his failed marriages, saying he was never meant to be a married man.

In a candid conversation with radio host Jacquey Nyaminde, widely known as Wibroda, Kibe admitted that he has always been too free‑spirited to fully commit to one partner, and looking back, he believes he should have realised that much earlier.

According to Kibe, getting into relationships he was not ready for only wasted his time and the time of the women involved. He said he has never liked the idea of commitment, explaining that traditional relationships come with expectations he has never been comfortable with.

“I am too free-spirited to have been a married man; I should have known that earlier. I should not have wasted their time and my time getting into relationships,” Kibe said.

Kibe described himself as someone who prefers freedom over commitment.

“I don’t like relationships, because why am I committing to you? I do not like that, for I am very clear about my relationships. I do not commit to you, and do not commit to me; we meet, we have a good time,” he added.

When asked if he would ever consider getting married again after going through two failed marriages, Kibe did not hesitate to say he is completely done with the idea.

“I would never make that mistake again. I would rather die first,” Kibe stated.

Kibe also revealed that he has six children with different women, noting that only two of them know him personally.

“They are six with different babymamas, na wawili wanajua baba yao, and are very proud of their father,” he revealed.

Kibe on marriage

This comes after Kibe claimed that married men are living boring and miserable lives, while single men are enjoying their freedom.

Speaking during one of his shows on YouTube on Monday night, July 28, 2025, he shared his views on marriage, saying most married men are unhappy but afraid to admit it.

“As long as you are a single man, you are free,” Kibe said. “I am not advocating that you get out of your marriages. But many of you who are in marriages cannot stand my gut.”

He went on to suggest that married men, especially those working abroad with wives back at home, are happier simply because they do have have to deal with their wives daily.

“Many of you who are working abroad are very happy because you do not have to deal with your wives,” he added.
